Website User Issues

Great work, fellas!  Along the same lines, can we consolidate the article comments section into the forum?  For example, have each article link to a dedicated forum thread for discussion.  Otherwise, they seem duplicative and the conversations too spread out.

okay this is weird.  When I try to post a comment on a thread, it seems like I'm not logged in and won't let me post.  When I hit the login button, nothing appears.  Yet, when I go to this thread to report this issue, the blue login button is not there, only a red logout button, which means I'm logged in.

I'm using a laptop, firefox browser.

Thanks!

Thank you for this, I will look into it.

Not a bug per se, but a design issue that you might want to take a look at. On the article pages, in the right-hand column under "Latest News," the headlines in black on a dark blue background are really hard to read. Seems like you either need to lose the background color there or change the type to white.

I like this, I will fix it and make it white and black on hover over.

Good work on the website so far Mark!

Just a few suggestions:

  1. It would be nice to have an archive of the articles. I was looking for more articles on the different 213 Hoops contributors, but can't find them and I thought there were more then just the one you can see on the home page/ editorials with Taylor Smith.
  2. It would be nice to be able to differentiate the old comments vs new comments in the articles and forums. This would keep readers coming back to the same articles to argue or agree with other users more LOL.
  3. We could use a "REC" button in the articles or a "like/ dislike" like you have in the forums.

When you login it goes to the page where there is all the main content. You have to go to forum and you will be logged in. To login on the main content you have to login again. I have the same issue.

Could you make it so you can reply to a person without quoting their response and making the reply at the end of all the comments? So you can reply and you can see it better.

I can't comment on editorials or game coverage articles, only on things in the forum. i login in and everything, just like i am now, but can't comment on those and it's been this way for a week now. not sure what changed cause i could comment on game coverages before, but can't now, it keeps telling me to login in and after i do and go back to the game coverage it says to login.

I second this, and would like to add that it would be nice if the "quote" feature didn't quote every single previous comment in the thead.  As in, if someone "quoted" my current post to reply to specifically what I'm saying, that person's post would also include the text from CLIPSCITY's post even if they didn't intend to respond to CLIPCITY, and when a topic gets enough activity the quoted text gets really unwieldy to read/view.

I was in the middle of writing a comment and was scrolling down, and suddenly seemed like I got logged out, weird.  Page refreshed, comment I was in the middle of writing gone, and login button in the upper right.  I logged back in, and seems like I'm logged in when I click on most of the articles, but the most recent one (the editorial about Pat Bev) I have the login button, and can't write a comment.

I logged out, cleared cookies, and logged back in, and still the same thing.

Can confirm Osamu's issue here too. Had to create a new user just to post this. Basically, I cannot log in at all with my other info.

Yes the login issue sucks and it seems to be getting progressively worse! Where are any of the site admins? Haven't heard from any of them on this forum post since February 8th and this login issue isn't the only bug that needs to be fixed. Can one of the admins please reply?

YOU CAN DELETE AND CHANGE WHAT THE PERSON WROTE THAT YOU WANTED TO QUOTE

HENCE THIS IS FROM THE FUTURE

you can delete what you don't want quoted to keep it small.

I'm not having this issue.  Can still use my original account.  Just seems like I'm logged in on some pages, and not on others.  Same thing happens for me on mobile.

Some people are still able to reply on the main content though. Must be a problem for people who have been a member on 213 for a bit.

Just tried to login in to the OKC game preview and can’t.  Login takes you to a generic page with “Logout” showing but when you click over to home and any article it shows “Login” even if you refresh the page.

thats funny. My OKC preview works, but nothing else. The power rankings didn't work either.

For me, it seems like everything posted BEFORE the Sixers game recap is working.  Everything posted since then, I get the login button and can't post comments.

Have logged out/cleared cookies multiple times.  Have also tried different browsers (IE and Chrome), and on mobile with the same issue.

My new account seems to be working, but my original still can't login on any pages.  I enter my info and the page refreshes but the login button remains and I can't comment anywhere.  Are the admins aware that this thread exists? It feels like everyone is MIA.

So I've gotten my login to mostly work (I won't go through all of the hoops I had to jump through because it'd get long, complicated, and should ultimately be unnecessary), but I still have two observations/questions:

1.  Through all of this, I haven't had any issues posting/logging-in to the forum...is the forum login different than the main page login?

2.  I can now comment on all the articles except for the latest OKC preview...do individual articles have individual logins or something?
