The L.A. Clippers entered the bubble Wednesday night as part of a three-day process of staggered arrivals for the 22 teams participating in the NBA’s Restart in a coronavirus-free “bubble” at ESPN’s Wide World of Sports campus in Orlando, Florida. Arrivals began yesterday and will continue tomorrow.

The team will now undergo 48 hours of quarantine, during which each member of their travel party must test negative for the coronavirus twice. Once this process is completed, they can begin practicing over the weekend to prepare for their first scrimmage on July 22nd. The team’s 8 “seeding games” begin on July 30th, with the playoffs to follow.

During the team’s time in Orlando, it has been reported that they will have access to a number of entertainment options besides sitting in their hotel room–including golfing, bowling, fishing, boating, and visiting the Disney World theme part after hours. The last option should be especially exciting once the second round begins and players’ families are able to join them in Orlando.

It has been reported that both Landry Shamet and Kawhi Leonard did not arrive with the rest of the team today. Shamet tested positive for coronavirus last week, while Leonard was excused from the scheduled arrival to deal with a family matter. There has been no reporting to suggest that any other Clippers player or staff member was unable to travel with the rest of the traveling party today.

Players are allowed to enter the bubble later in the process, so Leonard will likely rejoin the team in a few days while the hope is for Shamet to be able to do so when he is fully healthy. Players arriving individually will have to undergo the same quarantine process, with 2 negative tests after arrival required for players who drive or fly charter, and 3 negative tests required for players who fly commercial.
