The Big Picture
. . . hasn’t changed that much since last night, frankly. The Clippers are the more talented team and should be favored to win, despite last night’s shock shellacking. While a top contender can go 2-0 in a set like this, a 1-1 split is no tragedy.
The Clippers sure made this harder for themselves. Instead of taking care of their business early and earning themselves a little road on which to coast, they now need to tighten their collective seatbelt for what could be the trip’s more grueling leg. The good news is, this team can really get on the throttle. Pretty easily, should they so choose. But they could’ve done it last night too.
. . . has thrown down the gauntlet. Give us your best shot or we will ram the ball down your throat. In fact, give us your best and we still might come crashing down your gullet.
With the Grizzlies’ younger legs likely bouncing back a little more quickly than their older counterparts’, they were already set to present a stiffer challenge on this second night in Memphis. Their puncher’s chance comes in the paint, with a relentless downhill attack and punishing work on the offensive boards. With less than 24 hours clocked since the two teams last left the floor, the court may feel even more tilted in the Grizzlies’ direction.
That’s all for our preview of tonight’s contest between the Clippers and the Grizzlies. The comments for this post will be the live thread. Sign up for a free account and join the conversation!
