The Clippers take on the Lakers in their second preseason game tonight at 5:30 PM PT. The Clippers lost to these very same Lakers two nights ago in a very sloppy and unentertaining affair, 87-81.

This second game will be broadcast on ESPN in addition to Fox Sports Prime Ticket and Spectrum, and that makes it slightly more likely that Lakers’ players such as LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Kentavious-Caldwell Pope, Marc Gasol, and Markieff Morris suit up for this one.

As for the Clippers, on Friday night we saw a glimpse into Ty Lue’s rotations, with Serge Ibaka earning the starting role over Ivica Zubac and Reggie Jackson playing in a three-guard bench lineup alongside Luke Kennard and Lou Williams. It will be interesting to see if these trends hold up in Game 2, and if Batum starts again at power forward in replacement of Marcus Morris.

Outside of that, the same things to look for as in Game 1 mostly apply. Which of the Mfiondu Kabengele/Daniel Oturu duo look ready for game action (or at least, more ready)? Is Terance Mann aggressive looking for his shot? Can Amir Coffey get some threes to drop? Do any of the training camp invites look like they could earn a roster spot? It’s preseason, so its hard to take much away, but for the end of roster guys, there isn’t much else of a chance to judge, so we will have to take what we can get.

Leave comments on the game here, as well as other NBA games on this Sunday. I know I will be watching Wizards-Nets to see the return of Kevin Durant to the court after missing all of the 2020 season, and possibly the Rockets to get a better glimpse at the now-healthy John Wall. Hopefully the Clippers play a bit better than they did Friday!
