The 2021 NCAA Tournament is nearly here – March Madness is upon as at last! For most watchers, the tournament is enjoyable for its extremely high-stakes, the drama of single elimination games, and the mostly entertaining basketball. However, for die-hard NBA fans, the tournament is useful mostly as scouting purposes for the draft. As the Clippers actually do own their own first-round draft pick this year (currently projected for 25th), let’s do a brief examination of prospects to watch in the 2021 NCAA Tournament.
While the Clippers could theoretically pick anyone at their draft slot, for the purposes of this exercise I will look only at players commonly mocked in the 20 to 40 draft range. This would make them fairly reasonable targets for the Clippers, who will probably be drafting anywhere from 22 to 30 (maybe leaning towards that bottom end with some of their losses). Without further ado, let’s look at some draft prospects in that range and when they’re going to be playing!
