Looked like he really had become a pretty consistent shooter, which at least makes things interesting.

I remember thinking he had skills that were rare to see in the NBA. The vision and feel for the game were top notch, but I felt like he just lacked a consistent offensive game for himself. His lack of athleticism really hurt him getting by the first defender. I felt like if he could have a consistent floater he could go to, it would open up a lot for him.

He was a decent shooter for the Clippers, so not sure if the improved shooting stats mean much for him, but I’ll be curious to how he’s improved since his last stint. Glad to have him back in the “building”, but not holding my breath on him playing for the main roster.

Hoping S Ballmer will take it upon himself to broadcast the 3 other pre season games for its’ fan base.

As of right now all I know is we have an insane March, a lot (but not the most) back-to-backs, and we have more teams on the 2nd nights of back-to-backs where the opponents play the Lakers on the first night compared to in previous years.

It’s gonna be important to get off to a fast start because the schedule gets ridiculous late in the season and if we can spend some time in the 1-3 spots early on in the season maybe we can actually rest some guys down the stretch instead of having a repeat of last season where we had to be in playoff mode for like the last month of the regular season.

First pass through tells me that first 10 games look pretty sweet, a chance to get off to a fast start and make some noise. 7 home games, 3 road. Play PHO 3 times–let’s hope that they’re as bad as everybody thinks they will be, and maybe we get some Beal Revenge. They were terrible last year but nobody told the Clippers, who lost to them twice in the first 6 games.

The Clips get OKC on the second night of a B2B, after MIA. @GSW is game 4, and NOP is game 5, another team folks think is weak. Clips have 4 B2Bs in November.

They play OKC and DEN 3 times, and get the nod on home games (4). HOU 3 times too, with a nasty Feb 10-11 road B2B, possibly a repeat of last year’s Nov 13 & 15 debacle. MEM 3 times too, all of them part of B2Bs, two on the road. Also SAS 3 times. They MIN, DAL, and NOP 4 times.

And yes, the depth is going to be crucial, especially after the ASB and in March. It’s going to be interesting to see the approach to the Nov 3-4 B2B against MIA and OKC.

Not sure what to make of it. Just beginning to take a look.

That being said, this season should be a fun watch because for me it’s actually low stakes – just like last season I’m not expecting a championship run, but in case things go badly we have the flexibility to pivot on a dime. I know the narrative is that we’ll have max cap space in 2027, but we could free up A TON of cap space as early as even next offseason, depending on how things shake out because we have lots of contracts that are partially guaranteed and/or have player/team options after this season.

So best case scenario? Entirely unexpected underdog Cinderella championship run and CP3 gets to retire a Clipper *and* a champion. Worst case scenario? Train wreck of a season that we can disassemble and pivot away from almost immediately. Either way it’ll be fascinating to follow.

I mean we’ve got size, skills & experiences from them all. And Zu & Collins, who will play most mins, are in their prime.
I don’t want to be overhyped but this might turn out to be a fun season that fans of other teams don’t expect it to be.

I’ve been pretty panicked and harsh on the FO for not blowing it up sooner but they have crushed it over the last 14 months. We will know if we’re legit ten games into the season. if we’re like 8-2 or at least 7-3 we’re cooking and if not it will still be a spectacle worth following with all the names and personalities on the roster. And if we’re floundering come the trade deadline we should have plenty of low risk assets to help other teams get over the hump for a decent return.

One thing that the haters are conveniently leaving out is that CP, Brook, and Nico are who most heavily weigh our being “the oldest team in history.” But these are players in ancillary roles so we aren’t as “old” as advertised.

What if Zu is Marc Gasol and becomes the best player on this team?

What if Collins becomes a version of Aaron Gordon?

What if Beal isn’t washed at all and becomes our leading scorer?

And most of all, what if Kawhi just needed a couple years to work through that knee and is Jordan for one last season?

Stay tuned.

Shocking hes not at least getting the veteran minimum from a contender. Maybe he’s too old to be a prospect for bad teams and not good enough to play meaningful minutes for a contender. Wishing him well and that he finds a new role whether in MIL or elsewhere
