I remember thinking he really had a knack for getting into passing lanes and deflecting a lot of passes, even if he wasn’t getting credit for a lot of the deflections. Almost reminds me of RoCo now. Yea, I think it’s always been the offense that made him a non-NBA player. I thought it was something he could overcome as teams always need guys that don’t care about getting shots and can just focus on defense/rebounding. But I guess there is a level of shot making that is required to be a meaningful basketball player.

I don’t have any real confidence, based on track record, that any of these guys will escape being knocked out for significant time. And that’s why I like our depth and a, against a “consolidation” trade.
Our best hope for these guys is that they somehow avoid season ending injuries.
So, maybe instead of focusing on whether Wall can live up to his billing, we should rather focus on the quality of the Clips training/medical staff.

It’s hard to know without talking to people who cover these leagues, or finding some game footage, but based on stats his defense has been there. He always has huge rebound, block, and steal numbers for a forward. The problem is offense – he’s not even an efficient scorer in the low teens in like second and third-tier leagues.

Yeah it’s kind of shocking that was just six years ago. I will say not having two-way spots (which started in 2017 I think) also really hurt, as he would have been a perfect candidate for one.

Still, like I mentioned, nothing about his career since makes me think he would have been anything. Maybe some real in-depth NBA-level development could have unlocked something though.

Most of the basics come from Wiki pages honestly. As for who’s updating a Branden Dawson page, it’s probably his agency or something like that. After that, it’s basketball reference, RealGM, and then scanning news articles. So some research, but less than you’d thing.

Pablo Prigioni is a scout or assistant coach for some NBA team, can’t remember who.

And yeah, never expected much from Dawson, but he’s still had a less than inspiring career overseas. Too bad.

I think this is shaping up to be Kawhi’s legacy season. He’s already a unique outlier NBA legend. Carrying a second team to a title would just add to the Kawhi lore. All the stars seem aligned . . .

If we could guarantee full health, the Clips would be the favorites in a 7 game series against any team in the league. But that’s a really big if, that, as we all know as Clippers fans, we can’t count on.
