Ideally, I’d like to trade for similar guys who are younger even if they aren’t as accomplished as Jrue or Draymond, but those guys are so intelligent they might age well. Also, I don’t know of any guys with those skills that are young.

I also think Leonard ends up being happier with this trade because the team should immediately have better chemistry, which would alleviate the playmaking pressure on leonard.

Could have used him since we don’t have (except for Mann) a real backup SF.

I’m seeing a lot of really, really awful trade proposals from Clippers fans who seem to think that PG has to be traded by any means necessary. It would be a huge mistake to sell low on a superstar just one year after trading a historic haul of draft picks to acquire him. At the very least, if you make that large of an investment you owe it to yourself to give it time to yield returns.

Now, if Philly wanted to break up the Simmons-Embiid pairing, I’d give them George for either. Not only would the Clippers be adding an elite star (both of whom might be better fits with Kawhi by diversifying LAC’s offense with either an elite driver/distributor or scoring big), but they’d be getting an elite star who is significantly younger than George, providing hope for post-Kawhi years that otherwise might be somewhat bleak without any draft selections. I’m open to trading George if it helps the team. A Zach LaVine package just… doesn’t.

Why? Ego. Clips would insult KLs b ball acumen.

It’s a tough spot b/c the return for PG could be tantalizing. But I’d really be surprised if KL would be mentally comfortable with the clips moving on from PG regardless of the return. These two guys are pretty connected for a bunch of well documented reasons.

It was iso ball and everyone was just hitting all there shots. Kinda like how opponents have always found there way to have there best shooting nights against (remember teams like suns early in the season shooting lights out on us.) just my opinion.
Also “a” way to add a legit point guard to the team without trading everyone we have is to look at what’s out there and available and see if a PG 13 trade makes sense. Remember it’s all about winning and everyone should be on the table except for kawhi if it means giving us the best chance at winning it all our FO has to be all in .
It’s easy to say “ the clippers need more time and the 1 season we had should easily prove that they deserve another shot at it with the same band! But there’s also a chance that west and FO have seen enough and there could be an opportunity to create something better through trade and FA this offseason Inwhich the options/contracts wernt available last offseason.
Nobody thought we’d get kawhi and pg13 last offseason so don’t be surprised this offseason ….
Anything can happen.

My biggest grief with Doc over the years is that he lets players get away with shit that a coach like Pop would never tolerate. ”

Good point.

At that rate you absolutely keep Trez and I think still a decent value contract. $15M-$20M is where I think it gets questionable. I would pay him like $25M for 1 year and see if he’ll take it. Would open up some interesting trade propositions at the deadline.
