That’s true but the Clips have a legit need since they share a arena with the Kings and Lakers (and the Grammys) and get the leftovers. Those day games are awful and back to backs will mean Kawhi is out and probably PG from time to time. It definitely costs the team a few wins a year from bad scheduling.

Maybe, but it’s also possible they don’t have time to wait and try to make it work because they can’t risk upsetting KAT and Edwards. In the scenario where its not working, those guys are all upset because they occupy similar space on the court.

I felt like Gobert really “should’ve” been a decent target for the Clippers when he was still with Utah. I mean I legitimately think Utah would’ve been a better team with like Zu/Morris/Kennard over Gobert, and maybe the Clips even have to throw in a 1st or Mann or something since Gobert is a “star”.

I’m not a huge proponent for investing that much in a center, but for the Clippers that have a historically expensive roster, they’re more equipped to take on Gobert’s salary. It’d be like most teams investing like $23M into a center which is perfectly reasonable.

Then Minnesota blew everyone else’s offer out of the water. To me Minnesota is WAYY too invested in getting that pairing to work to give up on it mid-season. They’d sooner fire the coach than split those guys up given how much they invested in getting those 2 guys together. Maybe by year 2 or year 3 if it’s clear it was a failed experiment, but not in year 1.

Successful business background — Tsai co-founded Alibaba and is worth over $8B. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt that he knows how to pick good folks around him to solve problems well. Is he any different from Steve Ballmer (Harvard vs. Yale; Microsoft vs. Alibaba)? They both seem to love sports. Game of Kings? Ha! Man, I just can’t wait for the season to start. Was telling my wife that I’m ready to see some beautiful and fluid basketball from our guys.

I also don’t think he’s an all-time great, but I do think he has/had that level of talent. I really thought that he’d take the next step into that “perpetually elite” category of guys after the Cavs’ title run, but it was just all downhill after that for him. Just a massive, massive, waste of potential.

That’s why I think we need to add a pick to make them move.
TBH, I like our current roster.
All we need to round out the roster is just another serviceable vet center or maybe the unexpected break-out season from Moose and we are good to go.
Just can’t wait to see our star wings to play again.
That should be fun.
