Shamet starting tonight so at least we’re trying something different. He was weirdly effective against Steph last year because he think similarly. Maybe he can read what the Mavs are trying to do a little better than Reggie. Anything will be better.

I get that Luka is eviscerating Reggie, Shamet, and Lou when he gets them switched onto him, but there really is no excuse for the team letting guys like Tim Hardaway (17, 18 pts), Seth Curry (14, 15 pts), and Trey Burke (17 pts in game 2) kill them. If Luka is gonna beat Shamet/Reggie/whoever off the dribble a lot of times that’s just something we gotta live with. Rotating off of him to give wide open 3s to Hardaway (39% 3pters) and Curry (45% 3pters) is just a recipe for disaster.

We were never gonna be able to really stop Luka, but if we keep letting him *and* their role players shine like this we’re screwed for this series.
