Simmons-PG-Kawhi would be a nightmare for everyone else. Imagine the defense!!

I like the idea of of Simmons playing a PG/C hybrid while surounded by shooters.

However, I don’t see what we could offer to Philly.

Bledsoe, Morris and what?

Don’t particularly want to part with Mann, Zu won’t cut it. Kennard? No, I don’t see it happening.

I would say no to Ben Simmons. Too many warts as GRap wrote, but what if Kawhi didn’t make that crazy bounce a lot until going in 3-pointer when he was on Toronto, and Philly was able to advance and beat the Warriors? Would winning change how we look at Simmons and Embid pairing?

The only way Simmons ends up a Clipper is if he leaves klutch & is part of a multi team trade involving Dame going to Philly.. I don’t see the 1st part happening, therefore, there’s zero chance they let him go to the Clippers!

Clips get:
Ben

Philly gets:
Dame

Portland gets:
Bled
Mann
Luke
Thybulle
Maxey
Multiple Philly 1st Rd picks & swaps
2 2nd rounders, or even a 1st if possible, from the Clips

Philly becomes the team to beat out East; should be a no brainer for them

Clips get the best wing defender in the league, who’d be surrounded by shooting all over.. I give zero fucks about his shot or mental issues, he’s too damn good to pass up on.. The “small ball” lineup they’d be able to put on the floor would be ridiculous! PG, Nic, Kawhi, Ben & Sr would be HELL for opposing teams on both ends

Portland gets 3-5 1st Rd picks (+ pick swaps), 2nd rounders, a starting pg ready to fill the void & a bunch of young promising players.. The Clips package isn’t enough on its own but since Philly is giving up alot for Dame & Ben refusing to play there, MAYBE that’d be enough to accept the Clips offer

Yeah Mann would have to come out this season consistently scoring 20 plus points a game along with filling it up in other catagories and showing upside against high end players/all dates etc. like he did in the playoffs against gobert.
Again the one or more of the rookies gonna have to show out on pre playoffs Tmann level atleast to make up for not having any draft picks. And lastly like flom stated Zu would definitly be included
Bledsoe is filler at this point along with serge who’s expiring and who knows how or if even plays this year?
Simmons has his warts..
even if he were to give it all at improving at shooting and influenced by kawhi/pg13/clippers culture is say it’s a long shot he ends up being a great shooter . Obviously he can improve but not enough that we just don’t aquire phillys problems . Let another team deal with that shit show imo
Tmann zu and hopefully rookies are in a good place to be groomed and trained.
Ben Simmons is like a rescue dog,
He pisses and shits in the house,
He can be trained like alotta dogs with different styles and angles from different voices , but like some dogs can’t learn new tricks .
I’ve trained k9s for years protection
Tracking obedience etc,
Most dogs have a natural drive to learn and want to work, but there’s a lot that dont!

Trading for Simmons would add a second legitimate star while Kawhi recovers, but I think the die is cast. I’m good with the FO’s plan for the team this season and afterward. Doubt they dynamite the roster in return for god know’s what at this point.

Not a chance the Clippers have enough to get Ben. Mann is their best asset and he’s not nearly good enough to be the centerpiece of a package. Zu would have a lot of value for some teams, but for the Sixers he’d just be a 10-12 minute role player behind Embiid.

looking at what Sixers want for Simmons , this won’t happen , they ask for all-star level player and 1st round picks, all of which are in short supply in Clippers

Kind of surprised this topic wasn’t broached and I don’t really have an emphatic position one way or another. But if there’s any realistic chance of trading for Ben Simmons we might want to take it a bit more seriously. Even with all of his offensive foibles he’s still a freakish elite defensive player and only 25 years old. If he puts a gun to the Sixers’’ head and we can make a move I wouldn’t be opposed to it. This package gives Philly a solid return and probably makes them better overall and we ge someone who can defend all five positions and is a second legitimate star while Kawhi recovers. I don’t really know what position he plays but something impactful probably ensues. I love Mann but it’s worth contemplating whether he will ever be as potentially sensational.
