The foul wasn’t dirty, he got all worked up over nothing. I feel like that was a signal that he was frustrated. And he was pretty unaggressive in this game. They were doubling on the pick and roll, he didn’t come alive until late in the 2nd half really.

I also really like him, but how many other teams play a non shooter at guard for 25-30 min per game? It’s easy to get seduced by the amazing defense and frankly it flashes off the screen, but even if he’s making shots, our lineups with him rarely crush it on offense.

Even if the sample is small and it’s against the Denver starters, didn’t we have a large sample of DJ with the starters outperforming the Dunn lineup by a huge margin.

And I know some people say well they leave DJ too, but is that true? Not in the same way imo. Dunn can run baseline to baseline and his defender doesn’t flinch to recover. DJ also doesn’t even get left as open from 3.

I really like Dunn, he needs to play minutes for us but how does Denver stop us with Batum or Bogi in there for him? Now they can’t guard the pick and roll, they can’t send help at Kawhi. Look what happened in the 4th. And frankly, how many postseasons have we seen series shift once the defensive specialist got figured out?

Even if it was DJ in place of Dunn, we can make a lot of our actions work and we’d have great counters to them if they tried to double as the lob threat is too serious to ignore. When Dunn makes the 3s it’s acceptable, but it still doesn’t fully solve it because of the damage it does to all of your go to plays. Harden was pretty helpless in the 1st half yesterday and while of course he can be better, Denver is getting away with having some pretty bad defenders getting the help they need to get us out of our plays. I don’t think Denver would have any chance to stop our offense if they can’t play 5 on 4. We scored 99 points and Russ was out, who’s probably their 2nd best defender.

As the camera panned the sideline, Bucks players all had the look of folks who didn’t expect to be on the roster next season.

1st off, I totally disagree with I guess everyone on the scuffle. Jokic instigated what would’ve just been a Harden tech into a full blown scuffle. He deserved to be thrown out. Jokic is the one who came running and pushed Harden and made the whole thing bigger than it was. Gordon came and backed him up. At the very least, it should’ve been a Harden tech, Jokic tech, and Gorden tech. Norm and Dunn didn’t do anything deserving a tech. The refs basically bailed out Denver. Norm stepped in to protect his star player and took a slap to the face for it. Dunn literally did nothing except maybe talk.

2nd, I said 2 of the 3 of Ty, Kawhi, and Harden are needed to win games. All 3 sucked. It’s shocking how close this game even was. All this game showed me is the Clippers should’ve won in 5 and it really is there’s to lose. Ty could’ve won this game despite Harden and Kawhi not playing well. He really needs to get his head out of his ass.

3rd, the pod needs at least 1 optimist. Rob and Lucas are 2 too Debbie Downers. Clips can take this in 6 with their heads on straight and can absolutely beat the Thunder. Harden needs to play with a chip on his shoulder. Kawhi needs to prove everyone wrong. Ty Lue needs to just not suck. Not even be good, just not suck.

I think Zu facilitating is ok, but I’d rather him take it to Jokic and try to get him in foul trouble. While is floating hook is great, I’d rather him take aggressive hop steps and dunk the ball. Aggressive Zu could turn the tides when Kawhi and Harden are off.

A truly heartfelt, goooooo Clippers!

These are more than enough sample size through the years involving multiple players time and again by Lue.

And after that single one you highlighted by Shaw on Amir, did he continue to do the same on succeeding games he HC’d ?

Just cannot compare one regular season game by Shaw with a game 4 playoff game on the last timeout for a needed defensive stance with the score tied, unconscionably sitting Nico, Simmons and DJJ in favor of Norm, Harden and Bogi – Hope for an enlightenment on such logic by a veteran coach.

Ty lamented on the lack of ‘offensive rebounds’, so why not field the ones with the highest chances to achieve your objective on that last D play. Makes sense for me.

I think he’s been good for his role. But he is what he is and Denver thinks of him the way we think of Russ. That is cramping the offense. We can blame Norm, James, Kawhi but that doesn’t solve the problem. Getting Norm going requires a different lineup and Dunn is the obvious choice to move.

The advantage Denver has is they have Jokic as a playmaker to level up guys like Russ and they don’t play Russ or other bench guys as many mins as we play Dunn.

They are using the same approach with DJJ. The two guys who can keep Denver honest: Bogdanovic and Batum.

Agree that Luka should probly not be bringing the ball all the way up. Kinda wears him down. One + for Dunn is that he’s a relief valve, as a very good ball handler, for James–maybe that’s worth it for us.

From the Minnesota perspective, every time they take Gobert off the floor, things seem to improve. Rudy basically got cardio for 4-5 mins in Q4 and sat when it mattered. He was on the floor for much of Q3 when LAL outscored Minn by +13 and he did almost nothing positive. Ant has been big in the big moments but the best overall and most consistent player in this series has been Julius Randle. He’s handling the ball a lot and had a 25-7-3 game today with no turnovers.

From the LAL perspective, Luka had one of the worst 40 pt games that I may have ever seen. He actively killed their 2nd Qtr lead with over-dribbling, turnovers, bad D. In Q4, he turned it into an iso game and he simply wasn’t very good. There’s a right way to use Luka, letting him have the ball once the half court line is crossed, letting him draw a few defenders and kick, or as a catch and shoot player. But Luka bringing the ball up the court or holding the ball for the duration of the shot clock to get a middling shot off isn’t working. How the Lakers played in Q3, with Luka using his early hot shooting to draw defenders and get Reaves involved is the way to go. JJ coached this game like Doc. JJ needs to figure out that the Luka he has is not the one who led Dallas to the finals last year. He’s slower, less agile or mobile, can’t do pivot turns with the same quickness and has much less wiggle.

I do think LAL will win Game 5 at home and I do think they have a good shot to win Game 6 as they were very close in both games at Minnesota.
