Someone else pointed out it’s basically a one year deal which is fine, the issue for me is him being on the team means Ty will overplay him and overplay him and Harden together. So it’s “get him off the roster for the putrid HC’s sake”.

Would someone flip you a 2nd or 2 for him? Probably not. But if something like that were on the table you do it for the above and to start to restock the cupboard.

This is the first 20% of the season and we’ve seen all the bad things that can happen.

None of the “stars” have gotten injured yet. Harden hasn’t quit on the team yet, PG hasn’t forced the front office to sign another one of his washed-up buddies off the scrapheap yet. This isn’t even rock bottom.

I’m also sick of people bringing up the Heat every time one of these hyped-up “superteams” turns out to be mediocre at best. Those Heat teams had the greatest player of all time, one of the greatest coaches of all time, and one of the greatest GMs of all time, and still didn’t win as much as the general public expected them to. When even that team was more vulnerable than expected, what hope do we have with our washed-up fossil players and the worst GM and coach in the NBA?

Harden has been cooked for a while now and the reason why he’s a Clipper right now is because he steadfastly refuses to accept his actual current value in the NBA. He will go play in China or Europe before he admits he’s anything less than a max player at this stage of his career. I wouldn’t even give this guy the MLE.

Harden doesn’t do anything “without any drama.” He is drama personified.

In a way, I kinda love the shitty moment that we are in.
This is the first 20% of the season and we’ve seen all the bad things that can happen.
It may getting worse but I believe we have some thing better waiting for us.

3rd game in 4 nights. Let down coming in knowing that Jokic/Gordon weren’t playing. A coach needs to anticipate that. Clips got up to +11 twice in that game and Lue’s substitutions damaged the momentum. His Q4 lineups weren’t good. This was the type of game you expect a coach to navigate a tired team through. Lue just isn’t good in tight games. He gets exposed.

Sad that we’re not a championship contender. We were doing just fine without Harden. We might not even make it to the playoffs the way this team plays. Questionable lineups, and “stars” disappearing.
Relying on Marcus Morris, PJ Tucker, John Wall 20+ mins a game when you have young, hungry players that’ll give you some hustle and energy!

They just kept pushing the “big three” narrative down everyone’s throats. LeBron, Wade and Bosh were phenomenal with amazing chemistry, and sacrifice. The clippers big three not so much…clips should’ve grown organically, warriors, nuggets, etc.

We suck this year and going to suck the next 6 years thanks to the front office for emptying out the draft pick bin.

Clippers don’t even look like they’re having fun anymore.

I miss lob city, and eb, cave man kaman, and cat days. Those rosters had great chemistry and were having fun out there while winning.

None of that matters. Russ at 4 million is a great deal, trading that contract is gonna be a mistake. Say you get a ‘better fit’ for 4 million:

– you got zero leadership left
– do you get leadership in return? 99% no, let alone that guy would be accepted as a leader
– what skillset are you looking for as shooting is out of your price range already?
– what do you do once the inevitable injuries strike? who can carry a bigger load on both ends?

My guy or not, the statement itself is irrational. Bias for or against Russ doesn’t change that

I agree. Much as I think Ty is a lousy coach and want to get rid of him, losing this particular game was primarily due to crappy performances by most of the roster.

I think for a lot of us what’s so upsetting is that we knew this was probably the last prime year for 213 but there’s been an alarming drop of for #2. I was enjoying watching the RoCo wing stop lineup to start the season and although I would have been happy without Harden I expected that if nothing else the team would be entertaining and win a lot of games on offensive firepower alone.

I’m kind of sick of hearing about “figuring it out” when Allstar teams don’t get but a practice or two together and Olympic teams a couple of weeks. No team with this much talent should be suffering this many terrible losses and it’s either the coaching or players fading or both.

The only remaining fragment of hope is that Harden has been holding back too much and might still have that supernova factor in him. It’s easy to forget that prime Harden was even more insane than Luka is today. But at 34 that’s a lot to expect.

Kings clawing their way back into the game right now. Hopefully they barely win by 1 and are exhausted tomorrow.
