This is just great. It’s a wonderful tweak, but it’s also out there on the margins. One item not mentioned is Nico’s best role might be as the fill in starter on Kawhi’s days off.

He’s an all-timer for the Clippers, for sure, especially now that he can finish up here. He makes everybody better, and does all sorts of dirty work and little things. I’m excited to see his fit with Harden. He never played with a great PG during his Clipper tenure, and they will collaborate to keep the ball moving, Batum cutting, playing the game on a deep, intuitive level.

I like the quick moves yesterday. The only downside is that the Clippers haven’t done anything about rebounding, and that’s the weak point in Nico’s profile. Bamba is an upgrade on Plumlee and Theis on rebounding and rim protection. But let’s see if there are other moves. I need to know more about Kris Dunn, but the pod crew likes him a lot. Wait to see how all that plays out.

Not my take at all and I’ve seen plenty. Most DAs want to be judges and so want to be seen as being tough on crime. If they thot Porter was unredeemable, he wouldn’t be given this chance. Plus, Judges, also wanting to be tough, veto too lenient deals often.

Looks like we will dump Russ on the Nuggets. For me, that’s a 2’fer. Getting rid of Russ to a rival is the best of both worlds.

Kind of hard to do given those guys limited value, but at least they’re expiring. But the Clips probably aren’t taking a big deal back.

To me the most obvious situation seems to be with the Bulls and Lavine, DeRozan, and Zo.

Mann, PJ, and Norm for Lavine works if they really just want to get out of Levine’s deal. Mann would be a solid get for them.

PJ, Norm, and Westbrook for like Zo and a sign and traded DeRozan? Not even sure that’s legal, but if possible, could get DeRozan above a MLE salary. DeRozan has spent time at PF in his career. Obviously undersized for the position, but he is strong and a good playmaker from the wing. Obviously they’d just be shedding Zo and I assume he’s not going to play? but I always loved his game if he can get back on the court.

Seems like forever that we had a team that was fun to watch AND played smart basketball.

I’m glad that 213 era is over. It was filled with hope, but it failed. Time to move onward.

The only reason I’m on the “trade Norm for a PF” train is because the alternative is “trade Mann for a PF” and I don’t want to be on that train. There’s also the “trade Russ, PJ, and Coffey for a (bad) PF” train, but I can’t imagine any other team would be interested in that package, and certainly not for a PF that should warrant starting minutes…
