Starters: Mann/Norm/Leonard/Batum/Zu
Bench: Russ/EG/PG/RoCo/Plumlee

Only one defensive liability in both lineups (Norm and Russ). Good passers in both line ups (Batum and Plumlee). And a good amount spacing in the Russ line up (dude need space if he’s going to do anything on offense).

I love your closing line up. I basically took MM out of the rotation, but I don’t hate him and def feel like he adds value. I just feel like he is redundant with Norm and Westbrook in different ways and if we have to play Russ, I think it’s only natural for MM to come out of the rotation.

Ty has a history of getting smart with line ups in the playoffs. No more tinkering. No egos. He just plays the right guys and he benches the guys that shouldn’t get minutes. Our culture is built such that he’s able to bench guys for entire series (e.g. Zu), but everyone gets it and is fully bought in. I would hope he’d be the same with Westbrook.

If George and Leonard thought defenses loaded up on them before, just wait until they play with Westbrook.

Yes, Westbrook can drive, however, he sucks at free throws. He can’t shoot. He is a turnover waiting to happen and we already have one of those in George.

I appreciate George’s time on the Clippers but I really hope he gets traded over the summer. 2 or 3 first-rounders and 2 very good players would be fine with me.

If they don’t, this nonsense will happen again. The FO knows what they are doing. As others have written, players and coaches make rotten GMs.

I am really upset about how this will affect Mann.

We need to prove that we as Clipper fans treat our guys way better than the guys across the hall.

This! Would be very satisfying.

Denial: Surely not Westbrook!! Unsubstantiated rumors!

Anger: $$$$$$$ idiots! What is (insert your favourite culprit here) thinking?

Bargaining: Surely he will accpet his new role, 15min off the bench, distribution, no shooting, improved decision making and defense.

Depression: OMG,he’ll start!!! There goes our first banner!

Acceptance: It is what it is, no more excuses, championship or bust. Players should play, coaches should coach and the front office should provide stability.

I really want to be supportive of Russ, as I think having him in the right mindset and feeding off the energy of the fans is how you will get the best out of him. We need to prove that we as Clipper fans treat our guys way better than the guys across the hall.

If we can get all of these guys a championship this year, that would be a hell of a story. Especially the hometown guys in KL, PG, Powell, and Westbrook.

I was willing to give John Wall a chance, even though I was skeptical of his fit. I thought Wall was worth the risk (at least when I assumed he would be coming on a minimum deal), so I guess I have to say that I think Westbrook is worth the risk as well. He’s not EXACTLY the same player as Wall (even though I’ve probably said they are).

My HOPE is that basically if we see the lineups that we have the past 2 games with EJ and Plumlee in the fold, but pretty much have Russ supplant Bones in the rotation. I always thought Bones is more of a project and probably having him getting meaningful playing time was unlikely. He’s been okay, but bad defensively I think Russ would be a decent fit in that role of like <20 minutes with the bench unit. Can’t be worse than Bones defensively, and I do think will drive with more ferocity than Wall, who really didn’t bring enough of the drive and kick game than I thought he would.

I would actually be more excited about the fit before we got Plumlee. Russ would massively help a small ball bench unit in rebounding, and if you go small with like Morris or RoCo at center, you probably have the kind of space and pace bench unit that might be a better fit around Russ. With Plumlee, the need for a rebounder is less of a concern, and having Plumlee in the middle, spacing is more of a concern. Russ did play a long time with a true big in Steven Adams, so hopefully Plums can be the recipient of some assists from Russ.

I haven’t caught any pod yet besides a good portion of the dime dropper NONSENSE, so I don’t know if it’s been said, but the key to Russ working is Plumlee! I alluded to it already but I’ll say it again since most folks don’t seem to know his game much. I’ve been big on Plumlee prior to the trade, & since the trade, but I don’t think folks understand how good he is. He’s a better & smarter version of Hart, whom I also loved. I can’t stress enough the importance of a good PNR big who can actually roll & pass. All things Plumlee provides on the offensive end

Just take a look at last year. For as bad as Bledsoe was early in the season, he & Hart were great together! I see the same thing playing out with Russ & Plumlee. The biggest difference is, they’ll be surrounded by much better players. Folks can throw out all the fuckin stats about Russ, but who you share the floor with, MATTERS! This current Clips squad, is the best collection of shooters he’s ever played with.

Lastly, get ready for fun & energetic Clippers basketball, again!

Nobody undervalued Shai. We traded our most valuable player for a 2nd-runner-up MVP candidate and were held hostage by Kawhi. Also, SGA is top 15, maybe top 10, but not top 5.
