The Clippers close out their 2025 Summer League with a game against the Memphis Grizzlies. The game is scheduled at 5 PM ET, and there are only a few games today, so that timing should be roughly accurate. The game is only being televised on ESPNU, so it might be tough to access for people that don’t have League Pass or Clippervision.

These late Summer League games are somehow even more useless than the rest of Summer League, as so many guys have already been sent home (including nearly all top first and second-year players) and competitive drive is at a low. Thus, I wouldn’t take nearly anything away from this game.

All that being said, this is the last Clippers’ basketball we will see for close to two and a half months, so we may as well enjoy. Let’s hope the Clippers send out all of their actual roster players and they show out in their last opportunity in Vegas.

The 3-0 Summer League Clippers take on the Denver Nuggets for their final game of “group” play before the Summer League Playoffs. The game has a start time of 8:00 PM PT that will probably be more like 8:20, and will be played at the Thomas & Mack Center on ESPN2.

If the Clippers win this game, their 4-0 record will get them into the Summer League Playoffs, not like that means very much. Still, it’s always fun to see players try hard in games that matter, and for these Summer Leaguers, winning the championship would be cool.

As for the Clippers themselves, Game 3 was one of the worst games of basketball I’ve ever seen, and that includes many years of watching Summer League. The Clippers’ defense was good (Trentyn Flowers was particularly impactful in that game) but their offense was abysmal. They will need to score more than 63 points to win any other game in Vegas.

For this one, I’d like to see Cam Christie and Pat Baldwin continue to score in ways that aren’t jump shots, Jordan Miller do some playmaking, and Yanic Konan Niederhauser and Flowers bring energy and offense in transition.

The 2025 Summer League Clippers are 2-0 heading into their game tonight against the Lakers, which is on at 7:30 PM PT on NBA TV and ESPN+. Just as with previous games, this one will likely start late, so I’d expect 7:45 PM at earliest.

The Clippers had a solid win yesterday against the Bucks, with a dominant start to the 4th quarter giving them the edge to get the win. The Clippers received 20+ point games from Cam Christie, Patrick Baldwin Jr., and Jordan Miller, all of whom played quite well. For other notable Clippers’ summer leagues, Kobe Brown sat out with his ankle sprain, while Trentyn Flowers and Kobe Sanders had nice outings off the bench. The lone Clippers’ roster player who did not have a great night was Yanic Konan Niederhauser, who had a loud dunk and block in the 4th quarter but was quiet the rest of the game.

Hopefully the Clippers play well again tonight and get the win. Even in Summer League, it’s nice to beat the Lakers.

The Clippers play their second game of the 2025 Summer League tonight at 6:30 PM PT against the Bucks.

The game will be on NBA TV and ESPN+, and is located at Cox Pavillion (the smaller of the two Vegas courts). As always with Summer League, games can run quite late, so don’t anticipate the game actually starting at 6:30.

Kobe Brown left the Clippers’ first Summer League game with an ankle injury, but after the game the Clippers said the withdrawal was precautionary, so I’d guess he plays in today’s game. Similarly, Patrick Baldwin, who missed the first game due to his own ankle injury, said that he is hopeful he’ll be able to play some minutes today.

That’s about all! Every year it gets harder for me to take Summer League very seriously, but hopefully the Clippers have another strong outing tonight.

Reviewing the Clippers 2025 Summer League Roster

The Clippers’ first Summer League is in two days, so it’s time for my annual tradition of reviewing the Clippers’ summer roster and giving brief thoughts on each player.

The Roster Guys

Yanic Konan Niederhauser – Niederhauser is an archetype of player – athletic big man – that I think generally looks pretty good in unstructured play like Summer League. We all know he’s hyper athletic, and there will therefore be some fun dunks and blocks, but I’ll be watching his positioning on both ends closely. Really, the biggest complaint about Niederhauser I’ve heard from scouts and draft people is he’s not all that competent at basketball fundamentals, so just seeing how he moves on the court and does basic things (box out, set picks, set himself on defense) will be the important check boxes for me.

Kobe Sanders – I already gave some initial thoughts on Kobe when the Clippers selected him in the draft, but I want to reiterate that I think it was a good pick and I like his skillset for the NBA. In Summer League, I am going to be focusing on two things – his defense, and how easily he’s able to get to his spots on offense. Kobe’s athleticism is not great, and if he’s unable to create any separation on offense or stick with perimeter players on defense it won’t be a good sign. If he looks comfortable navigating play on offense and doesn’t look completely cooked on defense I will feel good about his Summer League.

Cam Christie – The 46th pick in the 2024 Draft, Christie barely played in the NBA last year, instead spending nearly all of his time down in the G League. This is understandable for Christie, who is still just 19 years old and was not physically ready for the NBA last year. We all know Christie’s shot is buttery and that he has the size of an off-guard in the NBA. What I want to see is how his year of professional conditioning, strength training, nutrition, and play has done in terms of his physicality on both ends. Can he successfully get all the way to the rim on drives and not get bumped off his spot? Can he hold up offensive players as a defender and not give ground? These are the things I will be watching for in Summer League.

Trentyn Flowers – Despite Flowers being picked up last year by the Clippers as an undrafted free agent, this will actually be his first Summer League appearance, as he had issues with getting out of his NBL contract to play for the Clippers last summer. Considering his age and rawness as a prospect, Flowers had a pretty strong campaign in the G-League, averaging 17.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.9 assists across 42 games played. He also shot the ball fairly well, with a 38.5% rate from deep on 4.3 attempts per game. In Summer League, I’d like to see Flowers create off the dribble using his athleticism and play sound defense. The defensive side of the ball is where Flowers needs to put in work – like many young wings, he’s not fully up to speed there. Summer League is a tough context to show advanced defense, but I would like to see some nice stops and competent rotations from Flowers as well as his usual scoring prowess on the other end.

Jordan Miller – I’m counting Jordan as a roster player even though the Clippers cut him yesterday, as all indications are that they’d ideally like to retain him in some capacity. Frankly, considering how dominant Jordan was at last Summer League, I don’t really need to see much from him, but I hope he shows out to convince the Clippers (or another team) to give him a deal.

Kobe Brown – I feel pretty similarly about Kobe as I do about Jordan. He hasn’t been as dominant as Jordan at this level, but he’s also 25 years old and has proven himself in Summer League and G-League. Really, I honestly think the Clippers might be doing Kobe a favor by putting him on their Summer League roster to give him another chance to show out – all the reporting seems to be the Clippers are ready to move on from Kobe, and this could be a bit of a showcase. As always with Kobe, I will be watching his three-point shot and how smooth and comfortable he looks from deep.

Patrick Baldwin Jr. – Baldwin Jr. was signed to a two-way deal by the Clippers in March and it seems as though they’d like to keep him around for next year. Baldwin is going into his fourth season in the NBA, and has logged 826 minutes at the NBA level – more than any other player on the Clippers’ roster. A tall (6’9) forward, Baldwin Jr. can shoot but has below-average athleticism and doesn’t do a ton else besides rebound. I’ll be looking to see if he’s any more adept at getting to the rim or at least finding spots in the midrange, since we know the three-point shot is mostly there.

Exhibit 10 Players

Jahmyl Telfort – Telfort is a five-year college player who played his last two seasons at Butler after his first three at Northeastern. A 6’7 guard, Telfort is interesting because his two seasons at Butler were much better than his stint at Northeastern despite playing in a much tougher conference. Telfort is an all-around offensive guard who scored most of his points from two-point range while chipping in reasonable amounts of rebounds and assists. The size is interesting for a guard, as is the production, but Telfort is very old for a prospect (turned 24 in April) and the three-point shot was inconsistent in college. Considering how many guards the Clippers have, I don’t think he’ll get a two-way spot, but who knows.

John Poulakidas – Poulakidas is a senior from Yale who played all four seasons at Yale, including starting and playing heavy minutes the last three. He emerged as an NBA prospect in his senior season, when he averaged 19.4 points per game (leading the Ivy League in scoring) while shooting 40.8% from three (7.9 attempts) and an insane 89.7% from the line (3.2 attempts). Poulakidas has decent size at 6’5, making him a standard off-guard in terms of build, and his best skill by far is his shooting. He doesn’t do a ton else on the court, but if he can hold his own on defense the shooting alone could make him an NBA player. I’ll be curious to see how he’s able to get his shot off against much bigger and more athletic competition than he’s seen previously.

Other Players

Izaiah Brockington – Brockington, a 6’4 guard, has played a single game of NBA basketball, for the Pelicans in 2024. He played for the San Diego Clippers for part of the 2025 season, and has in general bounced around the G-League as well as other leagues (mostly recently Canada). Brockington is a scorer who can shoot the ball but hasn’t shown a ton of other production. Considering how many guards the Clippers already have in camp, my guess is he’s just there as a favor for the G-League squad, but maybe he shows out. He is already 26, which is a mark against him having much upside, but we will see.

Juwan Gary – Gary is an undrafted rookie who played five seasons in college across Nebraska and Alabama. A long-time starter at the Power Five level, Gary is an older rookie that probably doesn’t shoot well enough (29.4% from three across college career on 2.3 attempts per game) to make it in the NBA at his size (6’6), but he is a solid rebounder and defender who brings energy. He’s another player I’d guess is more of a depth piece and potential San Diego Clipper roster guy.

Zavier Simpson – First off, Zavier Simpson, aka “Captain Hook” is a Michigan legend. He’s therefore automatically the best player on this roster. Second, he legitimately has had the most successful professional career of anyone on this summer league team, earning an All-EuroCup Second Team placement last year for a Romanian team and leading the EuroCup league in assists per game. A small (he’s listed at 6’0 but is not that tall) point guard, Simpson is a classic gritty, undersized point that can run the offense and play defense at the point of attack. He’s played 11 games in the NBA for the Grizzlies and Thunder, but his shot has not been good enough to stick. At age 28 he’s unlikely to make the jump back to the NBA, but maybe the Clippers are interested in him as a Xavier Moon type two-way signing for steady point guard minutes in a pinch. Enjoy the hook shots folks.

Clippers 2024 Summer League Grades

The 2024 Summer League is over, so here are some quick grades for the Clippers during their five-game stretch in Las Vegas.

Cam Christie: B+

Look, Christie was just 4-14 from two-point range and was muscled around a lot on the court. Still, he took an insane 7.4 threes per game and made them at a 40.5% clip, showing his ability to hit off the catch, off movement, and even off the dribble. His defense varied in effectiveness, but I think his lack of strength is more of a hindrance on offense than defense at this stage. If he can become an even competent defender and learn how to do some other stuff besides shoot threes on offense, he could become a real dude. Even as is, a guy at his size who can shoot like he can will probably have an NBA career of some kind. Promising stuff.

Kobe Brown: B

I thought this Summer League was a bit of a mixed bag for Kobe. His numbers – 16.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, 4.2 assists – were impressive, and he clearly has a lot of skill for a guy his size. The worries, however, are persistent. First, is his three-point shot real? He shot very well in his senior season at Missouri after being a below-average shooter his first three college seasons, and was back to just a “meh” shooter in the G-League last year. He shot just 5-22 from deep in SL, and the shot didn’t look great. The bigger concern is on defense, as Kobe averaged 4 fouls per game (by far the most on the SL Clips) and frequently looked slow on that end. He simply has to be better on that end if he’s going to be able to play real NBA minutes, even with his playmaking, rebounding, and bully-ball offensive chops.

Jordan Miller: A

Jordan Miller was the best player in Las Vegas, leading the competition in scoring at 25.4 points per game and doing so on an insane 54.9/60/80.4 shooting line. More impressive yet, he did so without really dominating the ball, instead scoring the bulk of his points on threes, in transition, or in secondary action. Best of all, he was extremely impactful on defense, nabbing 1.4 steals and 0.8 blocks per game while playing strong on-ball and help defense. The high-level scoring is not something that he will be called upon to do in the NBA, but the defense, three-point shooting, and finishing look legit. It’s very easy to see him getting rotation minutes for a good team as soon as this year. An awesome all-around showing with almost no negatives.

Moussa Diabate: B

I thought Moussa had a pretty solid Summer League, averaging 12.2 points and 7.4 rebounds in 23.4 minutes pe game while shooting 64.1% from the field and 91.7% (11-12) from the line. The energy and hustle were there, as always, but Moussa also flashed some slightly more polished offensive moves, including patience around the rim, improved passing, and a much cleaner free throw form. Still, Moussa being undersized and raw on offense is a bad combo, really limiting his offensive contributions at the NBA level. He’s young enough he could get there, but I remain unconvinced he’d be giving rotation minutes this season.

Amari Bailey: D-

I was very excited to watch Bailey, as he was a highly regarded high school recruit a few years ago, had a solid freshman season at UCLA in 2023, and was productive in the G-League last year. Unfortunately, while Bailey is clearly very talented, his decision-making and motor were both questionable in Vegas, at best. He took bad shots, overdribbled, and didn’t hustle much on either end. It was very disappointing, as some of his moves on offense were legit and he has the size and tools to be a plus defender. Maybe Bailey is a guy who needs to go overseas for a couple years for his game to click into place.

RayJ Dennis: B-

Dennis had a very good start to Summer League, but trailed off as the competition continued. He clearly showed he was a better passer and ballhandler than Trevor Hudgins, winning the starting point guard spot after two games, but he was also ineffective as a scorer, going 9-18 from three but only 13-33 overall, making him 4-15 from two-point range. The lack of athleticism was a real drawback as a finisher, and that will only be more pronounced in the NBA. Still, Dennis kept the offense moving pretty well,

Elijah Harkless: B

Harkless is one of my least favorite archetypes of player – on-ball defense pest who doesn’t do a ton else on defense and is mostly a stationary three-point shooter on offense. His style of defense is particularly effective in Summer League, where the caliber of ballhandlers is much lower, so there’s no denying his impact on the team in SL, just how translatable his skillset is. He’s more of a point guard size player but can’t handle, playmake, or create like a lead guard, so his value on offense is almost entirely catch-and-shoot threes, which he made a few of in SL. A good showing by Harkless, but not a guy I’d have much interest in at the NBA level.

Terry Taylor: C

Taylor played the seventh most minutes on the team, averaging 15.8 per game, yet I barely remember him being out there. For a guy with a real amount of NBA experience, that’s disappointing. Taylor wasn’t bad, but he wasn’t good either. A perfect C grade.

Trevor Hudgins: C-

Hudgins was a knockdown shooter in the French LNB A last year, but was just 3/16 from three in SL play and 4/20 overall. Small sample size, sure, but that’s what we have to grade on, and Hudgins just could not buy a bucket. He also didn’t really show a ton of playmaking, averaging just 1.4 assists per game. The positives were that he basically never turned the ball over (1 turnover in 75 minutes) and that his defense was quite stout for a small guard. Still, it was a disappointing stretch for Hudgins, who I’m sure can shoot better but just didn’t.

Josh Bannan: D

Bannan was the worst Clipper who played real minutes in this Summer League. To be as fair as possible to Bannan, he was forced into playing backup center behind Moussa, and he’s simply not a center. He rebounded pretty well (4.4 in 12.5 minutes per game) but had zero blocks in over 60 total minutes and shot just 6/16 (37.5%) from the field. It felt like every time he came in the game, the other team went on a run. It’s not really his fault, but he also just isn’t athletic enough for the NBA.

DJ Rodman: Incomplete

Rodman played less than three minutes in Summer League, and looked pretty bad in that brief span. Him not playing more says a lot, but I can’t give him a grade for that.

Trentyn Flowers: N/A

Flowers was unable to play on the Clippers’ Summer League team for some reason due to restrictions from the NBL, so we didn’t get a look at him at all.

Dahntay Jones: A

The Clippers went 4-1 in Summer League, losing in the Semifinals by a single bucket to the eventual Summer League champion. The process may have looked even better than the results – the Clippers were disciplined and cohesive on defense, a rare feat in Summer League, and a testament to Jones and his staff. On offense, the Clippers mostly played unselfishly and moved the ball, another rarity. It’s a small sample size and you can’t take too much away, but Jones clearly coached the hell out of this Summer League team.

The Clippers will hope to continue their undefeated streak in Summer League against the talented Utah Jazz.

Game Information

Where: Cox Pavilion, Las Vegas, Nevada

When: 7:00 PM PT

How to Watch: NBA TV, Bally Sports SoCal

Projected Starting Lineups

Jazz: Isaiah Collier – Taevion Kinsey – Cody Williams – Taylor Hendricks – Kyle Filipowski

Clippers: RayJ Dennis – Cam Christie – Jordan Miller – Kobe Brown – Moussa Diabate

Notes

The Clippers have played quite well in Summer League, sitting at 3-0 with a point differential of 11.7. Their best player on both ends has been wing Jordan Miller, the leading scorer in Las Vegas, who is seemingly in line for an All Summer League team. After a couple up and down games, the rest of the key Clippers had strong game 3s, with Moussa scoring and rebounding, Kobe scoring and playmaking, and Cam Christie knocking in threes. Hopefully we see more of the same in this one.

The Jazz are one of the more talented teams in Vegas, with a lottery pick in this draft (Williams), a late first rounder (Filipowski), an early second (Collier), and a lottery pick from last draft (Hendricks) plus other fringe NBA players. They are going to be probably the stiffest challenge yet for the Summer Clippers.

2024 Summer League: Clippers vs Bucks Recap

The Clippers improved to 3-0 in the 2024 Las Vegas Summer League with a 112-97 win over the Bucks.

Notes

Cam Christie

Christie had his most impactful game of Summer League thus far, scoring 13 points on 4-13 shooting with 3-10 from three. The three-point shooting might honestly be even better than expected – he can rise up and fire against almost anyone, and is clearly comfortable shooting a high volume per game. He can take threes off the catch, off movement, and even off the dribble, and at his height that makes him a real weapon. Literally everything else does not look quite NBA ready, but considering his age, this has been a nice Summer League for Christie.

Kobe Brown

This was also Kobe Brown’s best game this Summer League by a wide margin, as he had an extremely well-rounded statline of 18 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists in 29 minutes. The scoring efficiency still wasn’t great, but he was more aggressive on offense, which was nice. The size on the glass stood out, and Kobe had some legitimately great passes to generate open looks for others. Kobe’s defense is rough at times, but this was a standout example of his intriguing dribble-pass-shoot skillset.

Jordan Miller

The Clippers’ leading scorer once again, Miller put in 23 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 blocks on 9-14 shooting, even with an abysmal 3-9 night at the free throw line. Free throws aside, Miller was a bit quieter on this one on offense until the final minute, when he scored 7 points in the last 30 seconds of the game to help boost the Clippers’ point differential. Still, Miller hit a couple great floaters, finished strong in transition, nailed two of his three 3s, and once again played excellent defense. There are nits to pick, but it’s been a fantastic Summer League for Jordan all the way around.

Moussa Diabate

What a game for Moussa. The big man had 21 points on 9-13 shooting while chipping in 8 rebounds and 3 assists, and was a boundless source of activity. Almost all of his buckets came in transition or on open looks around the rim, but he still finished strong and ran hard on the break to get great position. I’m still not convinced he can do enough on offense to really play in the NBA, but this is the template for him – defend, rebound, hustle, and finish those easy looks. Nice work!

Other Guys

It’s clear that the Clippers’ best two “other guys” on this team are RayJ Dennis and Elijah Harkless. Dennis continues to impress with his playmaking and overall steadiness at point guard. Nine points, 5 assists, and 3 steals is a nice statline, though I remain worried about his ability to score and be an offensive threat at the NBA level. Harkless is about as straightforward as it gets, a pesky on-ball defender at the point of attack who can hit open threes. At his size you’d wish he could do more with the ball in his hands, but I think his skillset is useful even if limited. Nobody else on the roster player much or stood out. I’ll just note Amari Bailey has been very disappointing, as he has a lot of talent and skill but horrible on-court decision-making.

The Clippers will hope to continue their undefeated streak in Summer League against the winless Summer Bucks.

Game Information

Where: Cox Pavilion, Las Vegas, Nevada

When: 7:00 PM PT

How to Watch: ESPN2, Bally Sports SoCal

Projected Starting Lineups

Bucks: TyTy Washington – AJ Johnson – Marjon Beauchamp – Andre Jackson Jr. – Chris Livingston

Clippers: Trevor Hudgins – Cam Christie – Jordan Miller – Kobe Brown – Moussa Diabate

Notes

The Bucks are in a similar position to the Clippers, saddled with an aging, expensive roster that has not been healthy enough or good enough the past few seasons. Thus, their young guys are also of huge importance in terms of shoring up the Bucks’ flagging depth and adding verve and athleticism. Their starting lineup are all first and second round picks from the last three drafts, so there’s talent there, but the Bucks have been awful in SL so far.

As for the Clippers, their overall team has played well in Summer League, with strong, connected defense and a ball-movement-heavy offense, but the only real standout player through two games is Jordan Miller. If that continues to be the case, Miller might be in line for a chance at rotation minutes this season, while guys like Kobe Brown and Cam Christie fall to the fringes. While I hope Miller continues to play well, it would be great to se another Clipper have a truly strong performance as well.

2024 Summer League, Clippers vs Nets Recap

The Clippers won their second Summer League game with another strong defensive outing, beating the Nets 87-78.

Notes

Cam Christie

Another fairly quiet game for Christie, who drained two of his four threes but failed to make any of his four two-point attempts. The defense was a bit better in this one, but his non three-point shooting offense needs work, as he just can’t seem to handle physicality on drives or finishes yet. That will come with time, but he does not look like a ready NBA player. It’s ok for an 18 year old – I’d say Christie is more or less entirely as expected through two games.

Kobe Brown

This was again a mixed bag for Kobe Brown, who had 13 points on 5-7 shooting but also logged 4 turnovers and 6 fouls in 26 minutes. He clearly has a nice handle and offensive skillset for a guy his size, but is slow defending the perimeter which can lead to foul trouble. There are some really interesting flashes with Kobe, who is clearly a load to deal with inside and has some real handles for a big dude. It all won’t matter if he can’t stay on the court, however.

Jordan Miller

Jordan was once again by far the best and most impressive Clipper. The Nets made a concerted effort to not let him go off from three, with Miller taking only a single long ball (a tough contested look in transition that he nearly made) after draining six in the first SL game. However, Miller got to the line an incredible 13 times, and impressively made all of his free throws. Some of those came on bad defense but Jordan also demonstrated craftiness, control, and strength in getting to the rim. He also reversed his bd assist to turnover ratio from game one, making a couple very nice dimes. However, the most translatable part of Miller’s game remains defense, as his height, length, and quickness has made him a very tough opponent in Summer League. I think he should definitely be a solid if not well above average defender at the NBA level, and if you add in his shooting, cutting, and slashing I think a player around Amir Coffey’s level seems very reasonable. An excellent first two games for Miller, who is making a strong push for a full roster spot.

Moussa Diabate

Moussa played less than 17 minutes and barely at all in the second half. He wasn’t ruled out and there was no apparent injury, so maybe the Clippers just wanted to get a look at their other guys. He had a quiet box score with 2 points and 4 rebounds, but was second on the team in +/- with 14 and you could really feel his absence on defense. I wish the offense was further along but for an energy big man he was fine in this one. Still not a great showing for a 3rd year guy though he also didn’t get a ton of opportunity in this one.

Other Guys

RayJ Dennis was again the “best of the rest” in this one, with 10 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists with three made triples. I like his playmaking feel and the shots were dropping, but am still a little wary about the scoring package against NBA defenses. Trevor Hudgins, the Clippers’ starter at point guard, was again quiet on offense, but I thought he had better playmaking reads this time around and remained very stout on defense for a small guard. Elijah Harkless had 10 points and was a pest on defense, so he had himself a nice game too. Amari Bailey scored 9 and clearly has a scoring package but the decision-making is very questionable. Nobody else stood out at for better or worse.
