I’d only be really surprised as he seems like he’s made such a point to be in New York or it’s proximity the last few years of his career. The life of a coach is not an easy one, and JJ still has some young-ish kids to take care of. I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets into it one day, but I think he’s enjoying the cushy life of a broadcaster for now.

Why not just take a guy without obvious flaws? There’s a few guys out there that would run circles around Lue — Vogel, Atkinson, hell — how bout David Blatt???

I’ll be the lone voice here.

None of the available big names are better than Ty Lue.

This idea that he froze out T Mann is poppycock. He trusted Mann to be able to play different roles, which is Mann’s best skill.

Lue definitely did freeze out RoCo though. Which was sad to see.

We just saw the team bust their butts for Lue without PG and Kawhi and have legit chances to win games against the western conference champ favorites.

Was this Lue’s best year? No. But it wasn’t L. Frank’s best year either. The team didn’t have a legit back up center for 60 plus games. That’s not Lue’s fault.

The roster was deep but unbalanced. For example Batum and RoCo had really similar skills which meant really similar flaws. Neither provide vertical spacing, they aren’t post threats,
they aren’t roll threats, and can’t create their own shots. It felt like L Frank said “you’re a wing? You’re hired” without thinking about complimentary skills.

The Suns history with Lue is one of having to face a tenacious coach who competed with a roster missing personnel. However its not the whole picture. Or maybe they recognize though Lue is crap with rotations the way the Suns will be constructed next year the lineups will be obvious? So obvious Lue won’t be able to freeze out T Mann type talent?

Having the Bucks or Suns poach Lue would be my dream come true.

So what if Lue went to the Suns? The Suns just blew their best chance at a championship. Durant will be a year older. He will be even more fragile than he already is. No Ayton is the current word. CP3 is shot. He will never make it through a complete season.

Let him go to the Bucks. Out of conference. To allow Lue to leave, have a side deal for Portis. Let’s see how badly they want Lue.

On another note, the most overrated coach in history, Doc Rivers was eliminated in game 7.

Boston is in their conference finals with a first-year, last-minute coach. Ponder that.
