Haha, perfect analogy. Like others I love Doc the man who reached deep down into his humanity to eloquently and forcefully pull the Clippers through the Sterling ordeal to the other side, but Lord almighty is he bad as a playoff coach.

While I do agree defense and rebounding are of priority, I don’t think the Clips could turn down a deal that would involve like CJ, Ingram, or Beal. Those guys are ballers.

I think a deal that might make sense for both sides is Myles Turner. His name is always being floated out there, and I feel like he’s probably a little more of a mobile big than Zu, which may allow the Clips to stay big in the playoffs. Not in love with his inefficient offensive game and blackhole-ness, and mediocre rebounding, but he’s at least intriguing. Sticking with the Pacers, I’ve always also liked Brogdon if he ever became available.

Still no idea why I’m talking trades in the middle of the WCF, but it’s an offnight in the NBA, so I guess I’m bored.

Yea, not everybody has the right tools for every situation – you wouldn’t necessarily want a college professor to teach elementary school students, and you probably wouldn’t want an elementary school teacher to give a college lecture.

Or if I were to analogize him to a player archetype, Doc is a role player – he does what he does very well (e.g. hype up a team, instill confidence in players), but you can’t just toss him in every situation (e.g. against an elite coach with comparable talent) and expect him to succeed. Doc would basically be Ben Simmons, whereas someone like Pop would be LeBron.

Boogie posterizing Saric comes to mind. I was amazed they didn't run any plays to force Boogie to guard Saric on the perimeter, but I guess at the end of the day it didn't matter, given how scorching hot Booker was.

I don’t know what to believe until Kawhi is in his uniform and not in his street clothes. Clippers have gone Zero Dark Thirty on us. All the media is just noise. Just work with the healthy guys that you have. The Suns have weaknesses also. Just try to focus on how we can max our positives and lessen our negatives. This is going to be a wierd and long series.

The statements by Lue about Rondo quoted in this article scare me a bit. Either it’s a psychological ploy to get Rondo going, or an actual indicator that he is going to give him more minutes, which could be a scary thing. If it happens, hopefully “Playoff Rondo” shows up.
