I love Boban as much as the next guy, but he’s a niche player. I always felt like he should be used as like a run stopper or momentum changer because the opposing teams game plan completely changes when he’s on the court.

If we needed a guy to step in for like 5 minutes a night and put up a ton shots, then great. But as a Zu injury fill in, or someone that might get called on to play starters minutes for a week or two…. Boban isn’t that guy. I’d probably rather even give that kind of work load to Diabate cause at least I know he can physically play 25-30 minutes if needed.

if he balls out, he’ll be due a new contract in 2024-2025, when guys like PG, Kawhi, Morris, Luke, RoCo, Batum basically every big salary beside Norm can come off the books, so really impossible to know what kind of tax implications that may result of paying John Wall. Shaping up to be a very interesting summer. Hopefully the question will be, will the 2x NBA Championship Clippers bring everyone back to go for the 3-peat?

Ok. Did some Spurs forward research. Yeah, they are thin at power forward and it makes sense to keep Collins. As far as McConnell goes I just don’t see it, so I expect that TPE to evaporate.

As far as that TPE is concerned the two players I would consider using it on are TJ McConnell: as an extremely expensive (especially after tax) 3rd string point guard (Wall not panning out insurance)

And Zach Collins (who I imagine the Spurs are going to play at power forward more this year what with the acquisition of Gorgui Dieng, but I haven’t looked at their forward situation maybe it’s a log jam and he’s deemed expendable .)

Feeling like that TPE is gone though
