Zu scored 21 points on 7-10 shooting (7-9 free throws) , grabbed 5 rebounds , 2 assists and 1 steal in 22 minutes of playtime.

he again sat out the 4th quarter but this time i find it questionable move by Coach Sesar, because lead was about 10-15 points, but Netherlands had a lot offensive rebounds in the same attacks that Zu would have remedied. Also Coach Sesar sat down Šarić, Hezonja, Smith, all our top players in the 4th quarter and Netherlands closed the gap from 15 to 8 in the end

– He ain’t honoring contracts
– He’s a diva who doesn’t give a shit about tearing the whole house down the second he gets criticized or doesn’t get exactly what he wants
– He’s older
– He’s not taking great care of his body. Combine that with his age, what’s the most likely outcome of that combination?
– He very likely doesn’t help you in the playoffs at all, the opposite is the case

There is zero point in signing a player with his history to a long-term contract because there is only one side that benefits from it, the player. The team could screw itself (and very likely is) in more ways than one, doesn’t make sense.

So I could see this as ownership using Morey as a shield here – feels like that’s a good 40-50% of the job for a GM anyways, depending on the ownership situation.

Also after calling out Morey in public this morning I’m going w/ a 0% chance Harden (properly) plays for Morey. Although I could absolutely see him showing up and deliberately sabotaging the team by being a malcontent in the locker room and outright loafing on the court.

James looks like a total headache.

More importantly, when you really need the best James Harden to show up in the Playoffs, nothing.

If James is looking for this final big contract, he needs to accept the situation, show up for camp in the best shape and play great for the Sixers.

Maybe, the Sixers can then trade him to somewhere he can start fresh, continue to play well and stay healthy and earn that last big contract.

But, Harden has to have his playing do his talking.

Anyone in James’ shoes would be mad.

But, a third party observer would ask why James Harden disappears during big games. Pretty sure that Sixers ownership has made the same observation.

Morey and Harden are in a tough spot, but publicly calling Morey a liar is more emotion than savvy business sense.

Would Chris Paul negotiate out in the public eye? Yeah, people call CP3 a politician, but he has the ridiculously huge contract — late in his playing career.
