The big thing is if it’s 7 million of salary to help match a big contract in the summer of ‘22 that the receiver can just cut for mere thousands who cares?
Aside from that Ty likes to experiment and I’m sure he wants a look at what guys on this roster can do when a veteran facilitator is connecting with them. Plus power in numbers. Norman tweaking his ankle last night was mighty scary. We need bodies.

Norm Powell is averaging 4 assists per game in his 3 with the Clips, over double his career average. He actually looks like a much better shot creator than I was expecting, so I’m surprised he’s been under 2 assist per game like his whole career.

Maybe as the new guy, he’s making a point to keep the ball moving, but I hope that keeps up, because my worry (if I had one) when we got him was if he was a ball stopper. Seems like between him and TMann, they can playmake by committee, and the lack of a PG in the past few games hasn’t been glaring. I’m just not sure a buyout PG is going to come in and push like Coffey or Mann out of the rotation.

if the clippers had gotten someone better in this trade, I’d say maybe take a look at them. but both of these guys have gotten plenty of playing time in Milwaukee this year and been not just bad but TERRIBLE. First off, I LOVE this whole scheme you came up with. Brilliant. I was hoping for a point guard acquisition this deadline, most especially Dinwiddie (multi-year contract) or Tomas Satoransky (bird rights) because without our two stars we need to look ahead. This idea of yours circumnavigates the uselessness of a one year rental. Even if it’s not used for a big fish like Malcom we need every asset we can possibly collect.

Secondly, I know it’s cruel, but I would keep one of Hood or Ojeleye and not sign Amir until we’ve had a good look at what we are cutting. One of those guys could help to carry the load/ Lue might be able to squeeze moisture out of a stone like he has with Batum. Plus, injuries happen. God forbid Amir gets hurt for multiple reasons, but from a front office perspective the impact is lessened when it was just someone whose status wasn’t solidified. Apparently I’m religious now. Old Testament clearly what with my ruthless suggestion on how we treat Coffeys contract.

Rodney Hood WAS that guy, years ago. He’s played 39 games this year and only reached double figures twice, with a season high of 14. He fell short of being Middleton insurance, which is why they dumped him, and he is certainly no capable of a larger role. He is worse than Brandon Boston this year. If you need a deep bench “see if he can get hot,” that should be Brandon.

Yes, spectacular analysis. Here’s a simpler one. DO NOT waive Rodney Hood impulsively—unless there’s no other means to converting Coffey. He’s not great but he’s one of those guys that can have big games here and there and he’s long too. We’re going to need bullets in the chamber every night to see if anyone can get hot. He was insurance for Middleton on the Bucks but capable of a much larger role. A guy that you can look down the bench for in a break the glass situation.

Congrats to Serge and I’m thrilled we did right by him.

Yeah I agree about wall and how you explain it makes sense, plus low odds wall gets bought out , clears waivers and signs with us for the min. Your prolly closer with value for malcom I guess/ I hope! Would be the real long term pg that would take us over the top imo I’d be super surprised and stoked to get him.
