I completely agree it wasn’t a great decision, and that the optics were bad. I just think there’s a lot of bias that has nothing to do with COVID or the bubble.

I think there is a degree of element of truth to your statement that if it were a Wing Stop this would be a non issue. However, I do think that it was a bit careless and shortsighted for him to go to a strip club and use the classic excuse that it has “great food”. On top of that, we’re in a pandemic and when you’re under the spotlight, you do have to take a step back and see yourself from a public perspective. This was a bad decision and the league and organization should be angry.

Nonetheless, whatever the reasons for him being there, I’m glad he didn’t catch Covid while out of the bubble. It would have been horrible to think that he caught the virus and then proceeded to potentially spread the disease to family, friends and teammates.

People are ABSOLUTELY making a big deal about Lou Williams’ situation because he went to a strip club (particularly after a funeral), and there’s still a large portion of this country that loves to clutch their pearls at the mere thought of such an establishment. If Lou had eaten wings at Buffalo Wild Wings or WingStop or something, this incident wouldn’t be getting even half of the scrutiny it’s getting now. Assuming that Lou wasn’t getting maskless lap dances from coughing, feverish strippers, then the actual issue here is that he ate indoors at all during the pandemic, and not that he ate indoors specifically at a strip club.

P.S. The politics don’t bother me. The subject here is relevant to sports (it’s not like you guys all of a sudden brought up taxation policy or something), and it’s an important conversation to have – good discussion all around, guys.
