The basketball has been a LOT of fun to watch – now that teams like the Hawks and Knicks are out of the picture, the intensity and quality of every game has been great. For what it’s worth, while I may not want to see the Spurs get in, I have enjoyed watching Pop experiment – I’m really interested in seeing what ultimately comes of San Antonio’s Rockets-like small-ball strategy.

OKC is scarier than Dallas (and probably Utah, and maybe Denver), but once you get to the top 4 in the West in the 2nd round you’re happy to see anyone except Houston or the Lakers.

What about the fun of the race just for fun basketball’s sake? The fact that all of these teams are battling for a likely sweep at the hand of the Lakers doesn’t seem to be deterring them from playing hard in their head-to-heads.

I don’t wanna see OKC *if* they’re actually healthy. I’d much rather play Utah, and maybe even Houston than a fully functioning OKC.

I just don’t care about the Lakers 1st round matchup much. I don’t think any of those teams make the series competitive. Maybe the Blazers win a game based off a Dame explosion, but I think on the whole they get steamrolled by Bron.

Ok Houston’s win was impressive
And looking at there remaining games it’s not hard to imagine them winning out or even only dropping one game to the lakers. This is worriesome.
Definitly going to need a team playing for there playoff lives come in hot and exploit the rockets small ball.
Other then that, maybe maybe, the rockets are smart enough to drop/tank/rest a game towards the end of the season in order to stay in the 4-5 spot putting themselves in the lakers bracket instead of the clippers bracket .
They matchup WAY better with the lakers then they do with the clippers.
Lakers would have a hard time stopping Russ and harden whereas the clippers can throw out a bevy of wing defenders at Russ and harden not to mention no team is excited at having pat Beverly off the leash foaming at the mouth about to sink his teeth in there ass on every offensive possession.
Houston could also not give a shit and just try and win as many remaining games as possible without consequence of where they end up in the end..
Igor the final 2 games of each team we will be able visualize which teams will rest, play spoilers, or play for there playoff lives
I which all three of these WILL affect the final playoff brackets.
Jonathon Isaac injury now makes Orlando an even weaker possible 1st round opponent for Milwaukee , any way Philly looses out and drops to the 8th?? Lol jk

Teams I’d prefer the Lakers matchup against in the 1st round: Portland >> New Orleans > Memphis >>> San Antonio >>>>> Phoenix. Nobody on Phoenix scares me at all other than Devin Booker – AD could handle Ayton and Lebron and co. can double and triple team Booker. I love me some Pop and keeping his playoff streak alive would be Coach of the Year territory, but they’d get swept by the Lakers. Memphis and New Orleans are both fun, but they’re also both really young and a year away from being dangerous. Portland isn’t gonna beat the Lakers either, but if anyone has a shot (like a 1% shot, but still), it’s Dame/McCollum – it wouldn’t shock me if a Lakers-Blazers series went to 6 games.
