Most draft pages describe OKC as having the right to swap their 1st for EITHER Houston’s 1st or Clippers’ 1st. The Houston 1st is top 10 protected, but they will likely fall outside the top 10 after the lottery. So that means we are incentivized to at least beat the Rockets this year, if we do we can at least have a mid-range 1st rather than OKC’s late 1st. Hypothetically we could draft the next SGA with that!!

Also, the 2028 1st rounder going to Houston is top-3 protected. So if we’re bad in 2026-2027, we could go all in on a tank (or just hope to get luck in the lottery.)

There are a bunch of cliches we could submit as to why he doesn’t deserve a chance to play but he looks closer to a pro than a college player to me. I’m thinking Trey Murphy. If we’re not serious about contending I’d rather see some of the prospects get some run.

Cam is young and quite skinny but dude is fearless. I can see him play ala Rip’s role in ’04 Pistons. He will need reps in the G-League but I won’t be surprised if he slot in SG rotation after ASB just to shoot them up. We’ll see.

A sad moment as I really was pulling for him — as I will if and when Jordan and Kobe get their shots. Sometimes pro athletes seize the moment and shine–one current example is Sam Darnold.

Those performances could drive who the team wants to stick around. I think that all the players will get solid chances to show us what they can do and then let the chips fall.

Agreed unless one of them has a shockingly great camp performance (e.g. J Miller’s SL)
