I appreciate the creativity as we all try to guess and figure out what LAC is up to, but I wouldn’t do this deal if I were the Clippers. Replacing Zu with the BAE is a bigger downgrade than replacing Lou with Hill is an upgrade (if Lou-Hill is an upgrade at all, it’s really more of accepting a lateral/value-negative move in exchange for getting a player who better fits our needs, i.e. a backup PG who is a PatBev insurance policy).

Think we gotta win now, I’m all for trading Zu if it’s helps us win now or atleast a championship this year, but just getting out own late pick back and erasing one of the swaps and replacing Zu with ??? I doubt Whiteside settles for bae he’s atleast 5-8 per player unless he gets a ton more which wouldn’t surprise me considering the deals that have been giving out. I was just throwin his name out there because he’s the only center left that comes to mind that might be struggling to find a new contract.
Now if we got those picks back and we used them for somebody better then hill then I’m game.
Lou for hill straight up or a couple seconds should be fine for hill, don’t think we need him that bad for Zu and our late picks given back to us.?
I mean noel is gone , gasol is gone, baynes Len etc.

I like it. I was thinking Zu could also be a part of a Rozier deal too but your way we get to keep Pat who will be part of our 3 and D Death Star lineup: Pat, Kawhi, PG, Ibaka and MM. Have fun trying to score on that bunch.

Oh yeah, the Clippers also get a starting point guard in Hill and OKC gets Lou Will who they could flip later in the season or the trade deadline…

How about this Trade Proposal: Clippers trade Lou Williams and Ivica Zubac to OKC for George Hill and the rights to their 2024 First round pick back, plus OKC removes swap rights to the Clippers 2023 pick. OKC keeps the Clippers 2022 pick, plus 2026 pick, plus swap rights to their 2025 pick. The trade would be done in two parts: Lou Williams and Joakim Noah’s unguaranteed contract for George Hill, and OKC would take Ivica Zubac in a trade exception. Clippers sign another center with their BAE and fill out their roster with minimum contracts.

The Clippers would gain more freedom to make future transactions, restore their draft capital, and help their current financial crunch. OKC gets a young center on a cheap contract to pair with Shai, and keeps the Clippers later picks which are the picks that are more likely to be bad since PG and Leonard would be older then.

Yes Toronto would be stupid to do this
But imo I can almost guarantee that Lowry wants out either way next year anyways .
Toronto is young and good they should embrace the somewhat youth movement/quick retool method and surround more young guys around FVV siakim og Boucher , Zu is on that timeline.
They then would have plenty of space next free agency but atleast gotten Zu and maybe reflip Lou for more to add to there draft capital and cap space for next summer. Lowry leaves they ain’t getting shit, so Zu Bev Lou is like the cp3 package we got from Houston.
Also which contenders out there right now have young talent and mad picks to give Toronto for Lowry? I don’t see many, maybe Boston and nets but they both already have kemba and Kyrie at pg.
maybe Philly does Simmons for Lowry but I highly doubt it and there’s not many other teams with any resources to trade for Lowry? Philly nets and Boston and Miami gonna be hard for raptors to get past, they’re gonna need a shakeup with there capspace in next years huge free agency.

I actually took it completely differently. I think he really wanted to come back to the Clips. It sounded like the only reason he’s over there is the Clips decided to move on. There was no way to keep Morris, Trez, and sign Ibaka. Clips chose Ibaka over Trez/JMG.

He called being with the Lakers a “business decision”, which sounds to me that he heart isn’t there, but it was who was making him an offer.
