His rookie year he had a combination of explosiveness and shot making you just don’t see in rookies.

Funny, for some reason I remember feeling like he starting settling for midrange jumpers at the end of his Clipper career, and I just remember his go to move became, pump fake, pump fake, midrange jumper. But just looked up his stats and they don’t seem to indicate any like significant change in his shot distribution. Either way, turned me off drafting 23 year olds for a long time, and probably still shades the way I look at like older draft picks.

I still wonder if the Clips would’ve hung on to him for longer if he didn’t get tossed to the wayside in their pursuit of Lebron.

Still crazy Thornton was 1st team all rookie over like Thaddeus Young, who’s coming off some of the best years of his career, while Thornton has been out of the league for like a decade.
