Jimmy Butler got enough shot opportunities for his teammates to get his team the W. I think Donovan didn’t play Beverley enough during Q4. I think they win that game if he’s on the floor. When he left the floor in Q4, the Bulls were +6. When he came back, they were -1. By that time Jimmy had found a rhythm and had started finding shooters.

OKC getting clobbered by Minnesota was also a bit of a surprise. Edwards had a much better game, but OKC doesn’t have great shooters and are undersized at the #5. Minnesota played a very solid, disciplined game (unexpected for them).

I’ve long thought that Minnesota might be the most dangerous team in the West, but I can never trust them to hold it together for 4 quarter or 4 over 7 games. I’d love to see them beat Denver, but I think I have to lean Denver 4-2.

Like, it shouldn’t be surprising that his +/- per 100 is worse in a set of games vs opponents in the top half of the league vs a set of games including the entire league.

Regarding the Clippers sans PG, I actually think we still have a pretty high ceiling. As good as PG is, I think everyone might end up playing better with him being out and I could see us going all the way. If Russ, Batum, Mann, RoCo, Zu, Plum, EG and Norm all play to their potential (and maybe bones as well), and Kawhi is playing at his peak, I think we beat any team in the league in a 7 game series. It’s really a matter of Ty Lue getting the most out of this roster. On paper we are still super deep. Think back to our PG led playoffs run how we made it to the WCF and lost basically due to no rest and a couple of bad calls. This team is way better than that team, IMO.

W/o PG (and I’m skeptical he’s back at all but esp. in first round) 2nd round is probably the tip top of the ceiling for this team and even that would take a miracle.

I just think people are overvaluing PHX because of media narratives (which I understand) more so than actual basketball reasons. They’re old and shallow and a lot will depend on Chris Paul not fucking up/getting hurt, which was not likely in his prime w/ us.
