Then Denver swooped in at the 11th hour as soon as they lost Grant. We overpay 2Pat as a result and here we are.

Rose is realistic target, but he is nowhere near as explosive as he was in his best years. Even Oladipo lost most of his explosivness after recent injuries.
But I don’t believe that our front-office did not understand the consequences of Harrell’s departure. I think they are planning another trade. Otherwise I don’t know why they let Harrell go. Leonard and George are not exactly that kind of players who can benefit from Ibaka’s 3pt shooting and spacing. They are not great in driving to the hoop. Kawhi is not fast enough, George is not strong enough. They are mostly jump shooters. Morris is not even good at the rim. He relies on his jump shot even more than our stars. Harkless was way more dangerous as a slasher/cutter than Morris. Batum is great, but not athletic at all. Kennard? He is zero threat at the rim. Zubac can replicate Harrell’s efficiency, but not quantity of efficient shots from the paint. Not even close. Lou-Will lost his speed because of age, Reggie Jackson because of tendinitis in his knees. Terrence Mann is good fit in theory, but he is just not ready for that level. Oturu is not exactly same kind of center as Harrell. He scored a lot of points from the paint in college, but differently than Harrell. You need to play combinations for him to score. Anyway, he is raw and will play garbage time only, where he won’t even get the ball.

Mann will get more confident with scoring and he’s talented at finishing around the basket

Even then I don’t know how much they improve the team especially someone like Bledsoe, who is really bad in the playoffs.

I do think lack of inside scoring has been a bit tough, but I also expect Morris to add some of that, and I think Zu will improve offensively after a slow start.

To me it’s more about PG and Kawhi consistently putting pressure on the D and getting to the line less so than any bench player. PG needs to get back to his OKC days of 6-7 FTA per game but it’s a good sign that in the three games where he’s been off, he’s gotten to the line 8, 8 and 9 times.

Lou is decent but he’s not getting the looks. I wouldn’t mind a downhill guard on the cheap like Doogie but that opportunity has passed.

Clippers is second worst team by FGM from less than 5ft. This team have so much spacing thanks to 3pt shooters, but no one can really use this spacing for dribble penetration to generate dunks and easy lay-ups. FTA is low too and this is directly related with lack of inside scoring. Montrezl Harrell was main inside scorer of this team. Perhaps replacing him with Ibaka made sense, but then it was necessary to acquire a fast athletic scoring guard, who would benefit from this spacing. Without such a guard, the team turned into jump shooting only team. Clippers unlikely will stay so hot from deep all season long. Paul George won’t shoot 47.8% on 8.4 3PT attempt at the end of the season. When shot is not falling this team can lose 50 pts to Dallas. It’s not OK. It was necessary either not to let Harrel go, or sign Ibaka AND acquire a new fast athletic scoring guard who can drive and kick. Maybe Oladipo for Lou-Will + Beverley + all 2nd round picks + Oturu? Or Rozier for something similar. I don’t know. Shroeder was better fit in my opinion. Maybe bring Bledsoe back?
