That 4th quarter by the Wolves was a special kind of terrible. Edwards probably hurt but how they even tried to initiate offense… Too bad they couldn’t knock the Lakers into our side of the bracket

I picked the Hawks over Miami and took the Wolves in an upset over the Lakers. Got close on the latter. Just a terrible game from Anthony Edwards. If he had given them anything, they win.

I just didn’t understand why Conley didn’t have the ball in his hands especially when he had made so many 3s. Defense was going to pay attention to him. Get him on screen roll, run a slip screen so he can throw a pass and move to the 3pt area. That would’ve been much better offense than what we saw.

As for the Hawks, I happened to be in DC last week and caught the Heat-Wizards game (2nd to last game of the NBA regular season). Heat were only 1 back of Brooklyn with 2 games to play but they rested all their starters and lost to the Wizards C team. Just didn’t like that move by Miami and didn’t like the team’s body language. Hawks just showed more heart and energy on the boards. I just think they cared more than did the Heat.

Congrats to the Lakers on making the play in. One thing that I did find satisfying from this game is it validated my view that Rui Hachimura is actually good and DeAngelo Russell is way overrated. Russell isn’t worth 30M/yr. I’ll gladly keep Russ for a year at 9M or whatever the new luxury tax arrangement will allow.

Props to Lebron for playing on fumes but being so efficient at the rim and pushing the pace at his age. Struggled a bit on defense and made a number of bad plays, but he made 2 great passes to get big shots for Schroeder and AD in crunch time. He was pushing hard when people nearly half his age looked gassed. He’s a marvel.

Yeah. Closing with Dennis (and Rui) was huge. Apart from Dennis, I was mighty unimpressed with the Lakers. Had EVERYTHING break their way and it still wasn’t enough, played lazy and sloppy for a long time, needed the Edwards injury, the foul trouble for KAT, a horrible bench stint for the Wolves and the worst offensive execution by a ‘playoff’ team I’ve ever seen to barely win it.

Now facing the Grizzlies without either Adams or Clarke – and the Lakers are still gonna complain how unlucky they are when shit hits the fan

Chris Finch should not have a job after this tonight. He’ll get a lot of credit for hanging tough but the moron kept running the offense through Anderson and Edwards on a suicide mission when they have one of the best floor generals of the last 20 years on the court in Conley. What I don’t get even more is why Conley didn’t finally just say “fuck this” and take over. Ham had enough sense to bench D-lo but this idiot keeps rolling with Edwards who was having an even more miserable game. Whatever, Grizzlies in four.

Yeah. If KAT can be a volume stretch 5, that changes a LOT. I believe they have a chance but they’re certainly underdogs. If Bron is on a tear from 3 again or DLo, Beasley and Brown all get hot or starters get into foul trouble, they got a serious problem. Otherwise they have a shot (especially if defending Bron and AD with a similar strategy than we did, that and a stretch 5 is poison for the Lakers I think)
