Clips would then have his early bird rights if he opts out and can sign him to a Reggie like deal (I think this is a foregone conclusion).

I’m also hoping the Clips can get Porter for the veteran minimum with a player option for year 2. With Kawhi’s injury, the Clips can offer him minutes and a role other contenders might have a hard matching.

SG – Mann/Kennard
PG – Reggie/Beverly
C – Zubac/Ibaka
PF – Morris/Batum
SF – George/Porter

This would be a sick team (health permitting), and you can load manage a lot of these guys which has to appeal to George, Batum, Porter, Beverly and Morris.

He was one of the best glue guys in the league last season.

Guys like Otto Porter and Iguodala might be decent fallback options, but neither of them can do all the things Nico does, so we’ll cross that bridge if/when we have to.
