The problem being they’ll hurt their chances this year losing depth at PF.

Sounds like the Clippers could swoop in as a 3rd team to get some picks out of Philly as well. Something like Harris and 1st rounder to OKC, RoCo to Philly, low salary body and Philly picks to Clippers.

Never been a fan of Harden’s game, but he has the longest track record of being a superstar.

Play Harden at point, and roll out an all-LA lineup of Harden, Powell, PG, and Kawhi. Who can we get to play center? Christian Wood?

I feel like the shine is a bit off him, and hopefully the Clips can get him back on a reasonable (<10M/year?) deal, and maybe he becomes more of an asset next deadline.

Also since the Clips have too many rotation quality players, ideally you’re in consolidation mode and can land a bigger star for your depth. But with the trade rules and really not being able to combine RoCo with salaries on the Clips to get a bigger contract, I’m just not seeing the value in moving RoCo on his own. Feels like would be better if you keep him and package him with some of the other wings and try and get back better player.

I guess if you can get a good pick out there for him, just as a future asset, you consider it, but if that were the case, feels like the Blazers would’ve been able to get a pick for him as well. Would be pretty bad look for Portland if the Clips got a better pick than they sent out to acquire RoCo within a week.

Morris is still producing at roughly peak levels, Batum’s game has changed a ton but he’s playing stellar basketball, and at 31 I think you’re hoping RoCo’s drop-off is more of a down year/bad situation than a washed-up situation.

Batum is the oldest at 33, and he’s the best of the three by a wide margin. Players’ primes in the NBA these days typically stretch into their early 30s, though tye’re all at the tail end of their primes.

I dont think the Clips need him, and don’t think they will need him next season. Not sure why we would want all these mediocre guys, esp with the strong possibility of no PG or KL this season.. Lets trade two of Morris, Ibaka and BobCov,either in one deal or separately, get some #2s or a good young player with potential

And this analysis below may be a bit optimistic -who are the 3 quality PFs in their prime? Don’t see any players on the Clips in their prime, except Powell, lol. Batum, Covington and Morris have all seen better days. Maybe I am missing someone, maybe including PG as a PF? and he is debatable

Even if you take Ibaka away from the team and don’t add another player to the rotation, they’ve got two established centers getting regular time and three quality veteran power forwards in their prime.

Morris could be part of this deal. In that case, having Covington’s Bird rights would be very handy. But if the Clippers FO think that formation of future backcourt mostly complete, then it’s better to trade RoCo now for at least two second-rounders and expiring contract (PG preferably).

Sign Nico to a bigger contract when he opts out
Sign RoCo with bird rights
Win the title next season!!

If we can’t get a 1st-rounder, it would be better to keep Covington as a sign-and-trade asset for next season.
