Lawrence Frank during post-draft availability seemed like he had a long discussion about “basketball character” and finding guys you can “count on everyday”. Unless he’s playing one of the biggest games of hard to get, definitely doesn’t sound like someone about to trade for Kyrie Irving. After those comments, I’m just under the assumption that they’re not even going to entertain the premise.

Definitely could see a Lakers package appealing if KD demands a trade and Lakers are offering 2027 and 2029 for Kyrie. Can you imagine them sending out picks in 2027 and 2029 though? Lebron is going to be like 45 then, and probably only putting up 20-5-5, but Anthony Davis will be 35 and probably retired.

It’s just about years. You can only trade picks 7 years in advance. Lakers owe Pels picks thru 2024. We owe OKC picks thru 2026. Can only trade (once this draft is over) thru 2029. That gives Lakers more years than us available.

Sounds like Kyrie is going to opt in and find a new home. Feels like Clips CAN top basically most offers in terms of player talent. Just a matter of if they want to, or if that’s what Brooklyn wants.

Wonder what KD would want to do should Kyrie leave? If KD leaves too, Brooklyn could really just want to restock their war chest with picks. If KD is willing to give it a go with Simmons and quality role players, then by all means can the Clippers make them a solid offer.

Haha, as much as I love/respect russ, I don’t know if I’d like him on the team in a vacuum. I would definitely take him if it came with a ton of picks. If both players were bought out, I think I’d actually prefer John Wall over Russ for our team. I’d trust his passing over the risk that russ would be a ball stopper.
