Feels like Whiteside is an obvious target for Utah to retain now, not that can offer him much, but still more than the Clippers and probably a bigger role.

Really depends what Utah does with these picks, but feels like they have a ton of tools to build around Mitchell now. They have to be in the talks for any available free agents. I mean that haul of pick couldn’t get you KD? KD and Mitchell would be fun.

I guess so. That’s the biggest problem with having high paid centers. If they aren’t perfect (like Jokic is), it’s hard to build a team around them without doing something silly like this.

If you want to play KAT at the 4, you need a really good rim protector because KAT’s not the best perimeter defender and guys are gonna have a great time getting past him.

If I were running the wolves, I’d trade KAT for someone I could actually build a team around or blow it up because you’re not going anywhere with KAT, despite his immense talent.

Kinda meh, since this could be used on a backup C. Instead Wall makes a couple of extra million when he’s been paid over 120m the last 3 seasons to play 40 games, 1.5 seasons of which his then team just paid him to sit at home. He should have taken the minimum so the Clips could get a McGee type for the TPMLE. One of the exception expires July 18th so might be a good time to see what’s available. The Nerlens Noel trade would have made sense now that Hart is gone.

That said, maybe the Clips trade for a backup C with the trade exceptions they have or they can sign Howard (still good for 15 mpg), Whiteside (also good for 15mpg), Dieng (good for 12-15). Also wouldn’t mind Biyambo, Tristan Thompson at the minimum.
