Put him on real team though and different results !

Wouldn’t mind him over cousins or anybody else as 3rd string
See what the options end up being and who we draft.

He was very solid for the Knicks after Robinson went down. It think he’ll be looking for a raise from his last contract, not trying to latch onto a contender. Always liked Noel as a backup center, same with WCS.

I was always hoping the Clips would find someone like that in the draft. You see these “unskilled” bigs go in the late 1st/early 2nd round, like DJ, Capela, Gobert, Jarrett Allen, and Mitchell Robinson, who far outperform their draft position. Unfortunately the bigs the Clips have been set on drafting have not quite panned out. I guess there’s still some hope for Oturu, but he definitely didn’t show much. I wouldn’t mind buying into the 2nd round and take another shot for a mobile athletic big man.

Regarding free agents, not a bad list. Definitely some guys that might go for the minimum and would PROBABLY be better than anyone they could draft and Oturu. Cousins wouldn’t be a bad 3rd string center again either. I didn’t really like when he came into the game, even when he looked okay in the playoffs, but you could ask a lot worse from your 3rd stringer. If he was a decent locker room guy, he’d be a pretty safe option.

These guys are expendable. Maybe he latches on somewhere good that keeps him, maybe not. If he does, there are other guys.

But imo McGee will sign quick with a contender. Lakers nets warriors etc
I do agree 3rd string center isn’t that important building free agent wise, I wouldn’t mind seeing cousins back

I just don’t think it’s a problem that needs addressing in the off-season. Pick up a 4/5 on a minimum deal and a UDFA C on a two-way contract, if you reach mid-season and think you don’t have good enough center insurance you can always find Cousins (or Dedmon, or Dieng, or McGee…) as a cheap or free mid-season pickup.

Boogie would be useful against Robin Lopez?

I’d be more than happy w/ our big man rotation if we somehow managed Zu, Ibaka, and Noel. That being said, Noel always seems to get bigger contracts than I expect, so I’d guess we wind up w/ a guy like Len, Boogie, or Baynes instead.

They posted a negative net rating with him on the court in the regular season, -2.8. The only guys worse were Fi and Fitts. They posted a -17.4 net rating with him on the floor in the playoffs, by far the worst of anyone who actually played–next worst was Rondo at -6.4

The truth is, Cousins does bully guys, and he has games where he scores 10 points in 10 minutes, and he can hit a three. And all of those things are legitimately helpful when they’re working. But he gives back everything he gets on defense and is wildly inconsistent and inefficient on offense.
