In my mind, this year was a step forward for his offensive game, but it was a step back in his overall contribution to the team. If he can find the right balance, without losing that effort on defense, I still think there’s something there.

That being said, I can’t wait for the Lakers media to overanalyze his emotional tweets. He’s going to get a lot of s#!& for the stuff he tweets.

100％ right. It’s not like he suddenly stop playing hard. He plays hard but he simply doesn’t know how to do small things, how to play defense.

Sorry, but Trez’s laziness, selfishness, and weaknesses were all apparent long before his bubble struggles. They played out in drastic fashion on a huge stage in the playoffs, but the numbers show him having a similarly atrocious impact in the 2019 playoffs, I was talking about his laziness defensively in January, and in our bubble preview Rob and I talked about how the Clippers would be in huge trouble if he had a large role in the playoffs.

I feel like Trez has gotten way too much slander. He was horrible in a bubble playoffs after a unprecedented 4 month layoff, and playing in front of no fans, after his best-friend/grandmother died. If there was one player on the Clips I was worried about playing without the energy of the fans in the bubble it was Trez, and I think it really showed.

During the regular season, he was the hustle guy that always out hustled everyone on the court. Sure he had his flaws, but he progressed so much as a basketball player. I think he was still learning how to really utilize his improved offensive game. For a change this year, he was able to get his own bucket in isolation, but when you’re sharing the court with PG and Kawhi, that’s just not needed. I don’t know who or why they decided to like almost get rid of that Lou/Trez P&R that just dominated the league, but I just feel like Trez wanted to show he wasn’t a one-dimensional player. I think with the right coach, he really could’ve still fit with this team, and unlike it seems like many here, I think it hurts to see him go, especially at the price he got paid. I thought he would make almost twice that amount.

With the Lakers he’ll still have a lot of things to figure out. I think he needs to get back to just grabbing boards and put backs, and cut out all the isolation play unless he’s on the court without Lebron and AD. Not sure how Schroder is in the P&R, but I still think Trez is most devastating in that P&R game. If I were the Lakers, I’d be worried with him being on another short contract, he’s going to want to show off his offensive game, maybe even take some 3’s….

Definitely not worried about a Trezz loss as much as the potential loss of JVG in all honesty.

It was time to move on from Montrezzl.
If E were def enough to maneuver into adding Ibaka and Rondo, i am more than a happy camper with our offseason.
I dont know how likely Ibaka is though… Rondo definitely seems likelier at this point in time

hah, i should’ve clarified i meant only that they’re ever capable of recognizing a player as ‘good’ if (players is not star-level) he’s a player who plays for their team (and yes; definitely while they’re winning as a team).

Ehhh. I’m not a huge Morris fan as I don’t appreciate his tough guy persona and pension for getting unnecessary techs. Now, if we win the championship with him, he’ll be that “enforcer” every team needs. You can’t deny the dude has talent. Spaces the floor and is at a minimum a big body for rebounding and defense. He also found his place in the starting lineup nicely. My hope is that we get two very good productive years from him and then he is trade fodder.

Losing Trez is addition by subtraction. It doesn’t matter what we do in regular season. This team will only be judged by the playoffs…as it should be. Trez is a hindrance against many teams we will have to get through over the next couple years. This team struggled in the PO’s because they could not get a stop and defensive rebound when they had to (Trez had a large role in that) and they relied on iso ball way too much in crunch time. Losing Trez takes care of some of these problems. I see the Clips being in a better place (come PO’s) right now than they were last year. Still need a pg and another big, but we’ll be fine.

Losing Trez is for the best for this squad. Having to overpay Mook just to retain him, didn’t seem too much of a reach. I’d though he would’ve demanded 18 plus annually.

You have to remember this clipper squad still have a couple of moves left. Trez exploited a huge weakness that some dumb coach kept unleashing. I doubt Lebron will not stand for it and will eventually chastise him for his lack of effort.

If Ibaka is still in the mix, then I d be happy to have Jamychael go elsewhere. Hopefully not the nuggets.

As for the PG, I’m still hoping for Rondo.
