And Bron beat them in Game 6. Best NBA Finals in the sports history. Pretty impressive. This is why he’s the GOAT.”

I’m prepared for this.

Miami clamped down on Jimmy in game 5 after his historic game 4, but let him loose again tonight. Robinson got off 13 3PA in game 6, which is simply unacceptable for a defense. That dude’s the best shooter on the planet, you can’t let him get that many looks. He was averaging 6.5 3PA this series and doubled it in game 6.

With the defense refocusing on Jimmy and Robinson, Herro needs to show he can have another great performance like he did vs Boston. And the Heat need Jae Crowder, who is a dismal 6-24 on threes in the last three games, to make the Lakers pay for abandoning him beyond the arc.

I’ll grant that if Presti thinks there’s a serious chance that a) the Clippers disappoint again next year and b) Kawhi and PG will leave the Clippers next summer of that happens vand c) Chris Paul being a Clipper significantly reduces the odds of A, and therefore B, happening, then it doesn’t make sense to help the Clippers at all.

Presti has better intel than you or I. My instinct is that both stars likely stay with the Clippers next summer anyway, but that’s obviously not guaranteed.

But I do think that, w/ no CP3 and PG/Kawhi leaving, the Clippers would be able to do fine in the 2021 free agency market. Fine is a relative term here, they aren’t going to be a good team but they’ll make short-term signings to win some games and not be awful. It’s going to be a huge FA year and even without signing an A-list star, they’ll have a ton of guys they can pursue with a tremendous amount of cap room–and where most bad teams have in the back of their mind that extra losses = a better pick, the Clippers will have no reason to settle for 30 wins when they could get 35, etc.

However, Clippers heading to 2021 summer without ring would be devastating for us because of target teams with capspace;
Dallas(Carlisle&Doncic&KP)
Miami(Spo&Butler&Bam&Herro)
Toronto(Nurse&Siakam&FVV)
Boston(Stevens&Tatum&Kemba&Brown&Smart)

Great organizations with great coaching and personel are preparing to go after some stars(Giannis-Davis-Kawhi-PG)

I can’t see us collecting a team that would be competitive from years of 2021 to 2026 with whatever left after those guys and no 1st round pick young guns to build on. Most of those years we will probably be missing Playoffs with each year, welcome Nets 2014-2018 era. 2020-2021 season is a championship or at least 6 years of bust season for us.

Sam Presti easily see the new emerging teams for 2021 and beyond, since OKC don’t have coaching-personel or City to attract those names Presti have to get most out of talent via draft! That requires making a huge bet Clippers lose 2021 big time with Kawhi&PG bolting to the next emerging team. Sending CP3 to the possible Clippers rivals(even Lakers maybe) is the way to maximize Presti’s bet I think.

Vegas rolls out odds to win championship in 2021 and viola! Clippers are ranked second?

Finally, let’s enjoy the happy dance after Miami stuck it to the Lakers tonight. On paper one feels like the Lakers will just bring it and drop the hammer on Sunday but if for some reason Miami does it again they’re likely to win game 7 too IMO. What should scare the hell out of laker fans is that for the first time in these playoffs neither Lebron or AD was the best player on the floor and their role players were finally exposed as mediocre at best. AD is starting to break down physically too. All the pressure is now on the Lakers and with Robinson finding his groove this will open things up for Herro now. .

Lakers gotta be favored still for sure but if there’s an anatomy of a choke job this is what it might look like. No one knows that more than clips fans.

So obviously Plumlee isn’t anywhere near my first choice, I was just using him as an example. Also, Trez is clearly better offensively than Plumlee, but Plumlee’s also better on defense (which I’m not saying to praise Plumlee as much as I’m saying Trez is abysmal on defense). Also Trez is probably gonna get a $12M-$15M/yr contract, whereas Plumlee will probably get a little more than the veteran’s minimum. Also Trez has allegedly burned a bunch of bridges in the locker room. So in a vacuum, I’d obviously rather have Trez than Plumlee. But in the context of our team, and our locker room, and at that price, notsomuch.

I do like favors in the realistic world if we can get a ibaka Baynes, I’d be okay with Noel as well. A true big not undersized and I’ll be happy.
Before everyone barfs in disgust at me,
Just throwin it out there, what’s up with cousins? Anybody hear anything about his health plans on playing or anything?
I could see the lakers being loyal to him
But that means one of Dwight or McGee could be available ? Anybody heard anything ?

Even if Harkless doesn’t get into the 8-figures, he’s gonna get signed to an above minimum contract. If nothing else, the Knicks have his bird rights and would give him a well-above-minimum deal.
