After some thought, this might be a silver lining for Scrubb’s. In any job, there’s a clock that starts ticking on you and your expected production/progress from the moment you walk through the door. Scrubb’s may have been able to stop that clock from starting for a bit, get paid and start to learn on what it takes to stick in the league from some solid vets.

On the one hand, it would make some sense if he knew about this injury, was able to get a promise in the 2nd round so he stayed in the draft so he could make the 500k two-way salary and rehab with an NBA team instead of going to Louisville and sitting out the year. But we don’t know that that’s what happened–it’s possible but it’s just as likely that he hurt his foot in workouts last week.
