Hill has had health issues this year as well and up and down season due to OkC playing there prospects but I take hill in a minute over pat to upgrade playmaking.
I know we want another point guard for sure but at same time I’m not 100% a point guard is the the only answer. Somebody who can get to the rim and put enormous pressure on the opposing defense seems like would be a major boost. A third star would benefit the kawhi pg13 even more so and ty can even stagger more to keep other rotations solid.

Russ gets more steals it seams like too and fouls less, and Bev is always hurt bro ! Pg13 kawhi batum and ibaka can shoot what’s the problem with Russ driving to the rim and or kickin it out for cleaner looks. We need an alpha dog. Pg13 and kawhi as good as they are don’t have have the killer end of game mentality. Imo getting another surefire star will go along a way.

The bias on here is insane!
We’re gonna make some moves.
Clippers FO is quiet right now and we all know that’s when they strike!

I just hope people on here don’t get too sucked into the “ the clippers will win when it counts crap” from last year, yeah we’re better then last year, but only by so much. We’re still a very flawed team and the teams that are better then us have the ability to get even better by trade deadline and buyout time.

I just can’t see bringing in a super high usage guy who can’t shoot to a team that’s designed around two high usage guys who can shoot.

I think too many fans get caught up in analytics, who “fits together” and have biases toward the guys we already have. You’ll hear “we can’t gut our entire team forgone player!” But of course we can and should. The Lakers gutted their team to land Shaq, the Warriors gutted their team to land KD, the Lakers gutted this current roster to land AD and now the Nets have pretty much let most of their great assets go to land Harden. The NBA is teeming with journeyman role players so we could find pieces to put around PG, Kawhi and Russ rather easily I would think. All I know is the Nets are reminding us that special guys who can do special things win–A LOT. Kyle Lowry would be another target in my mind.

I have a truely out of the box trade proposal that will prolly make everyone here vomit!(stay close to the toilet friends)
After noticing some of the losses to some of the other contenders and also being reminded here (on another post) that we are basically like .500 against some of the best teams in the league. We’ve beat some good teams and lost to some good teams . Sky is not falling, but how do we get better?
The season is not fully young and it is not fully old either but I feel we’re (imo) getting close to the crossroad .
The crossroad being 1. Listen to what our 2 stars have been saying
After losses( they need more time together, pick up the pace, move the ball more-especially at the end of games, learning ty Lou’s plays/offense etc.
The other part of the crossroad is
Is coming to a head, 1. Trade deadline (where clippers pretty much rank far behind in the asset game) and the buyout market(which I believe the clippers also rank very far behind (due to not having many roles/minutes opened up, along with a shortage of roster spots/cap space and last not but not least , not being that #1 alpha team that’s hot right now that buyout guys beg to join!( think Brooklyn)
So how can we get better through trade/buyouts with what we have?
How can we form a big three (ala Kyrie/harden Durant ) but still have depth unlike Brooklyn right now?
The nets will be able to cherry pick these buy out guys soon enough, but what I’m talking about isn’t just to try to compete with the nets(favorites in the East to make the finals) it is just a thought to make our team better for us to possibly have an easier time getting through our own playoffs and hopefully making a finals run against the nets or whoever makes it in the East.
Lastly, if kennards cap extension number isn’t the 15-16 mil when we trade him on this theory then this whole idea is to boot! (Warning, please have your puke buckets ready)

Ok here’s the rabbit hole !
Let’s say we know for sure Drummond and Blake are going to be bought out and if we open up roles and minutes and add a high caliber 3rd star to the team Blake and Drummond will come. ?

Trade- bev/Lou will/kennard/Zu
For Westbrook . (Don’t puke on yourselves in the toilet, or bucket bag etc! )
If we look at it like we did when we gave up the farm for pg13 and tell ourselves the trade is actually
Bev/Lou/kennard/Zu for
Westbrook/Blake/Drummond
It seems a lot better IMO
Russ contract is horrid but we also get to exchange kennards (gigantic of a mistake contract) wizards get to ….
Rid themselves of Westbrook and get movable contracts/expirings/maybe they dump Lou to a playoff team for an asset, and also can move beal for a huge package which they’re surely to do this offseason anyway.
All along setting up for a clean clear rebuild and developing prospects while at the same time increasing there own ping pong ball lottery chances.
Westbrook gives us the star player (highly flawed) that atleast doesn’t lack a killer Instinct in competition (cough cough pg13!) and we all know he can drive to the hoop especially at the end of games creating contact or he can drive and kick out to atleast get an open shot for kawhi/pg13/batum/mook etc. At the end of the bucks game the clippers stopped moving the ball and pg13 and kawhi go iso shooting contested shots and it’s not working well. Yes Bev can play D and shoot but Westbrook’s athleticism would give this team a healthy set of steroid injected balls
When it comes time to kill opponents at the end of games.
This trade also opens up positions/roles for the buyout guys.
Drummond could take Zu’s minutes off the bench or possibly move ibaka to the bench depending on matchups. Blake’s knees= kennards knees and atleast we would get my favorite clipper ever back on this team for a title run that he deserves, and at the same time erase kennards bone head contract extension.
Who knows maybe Redick is bought out and we could find a way to add him too to replace Lou will.. anyways….

Would you guys trade
Bev/Lou /kennard / Zu for Westbrook /Blake /Drummond even if the cap doesn’t work? Just curious how stupid/crazy/ or maybe somewhat interesting this might be. John wall maybe could be swapped in this scenerio as can cousins(okay I’m puking now!) instead of Drummond.

Westbrook/PG/kawhi/batum ibaka
ReggMann Morris BlakeDrummond ? ??
Westbrook>Bev+Lou
Drummond>Zu
Blake> kennard (mostly because we get to erase his stupid ass contract )
You can start throwing your tomatoes at me now, or maybe at the very least we can talk about any other trade scenarios to Improve the team!
Could we do a kennard for Bledsoe trade? Send some kind of Lou will or Bev package to get Marcus smart, George hill or Rubio
I have a very strong feeling the FO will do something, not because there in panic mode(they’re not!) but because ballmer and this FO are relentless at trying to win at ALL COSTS!
Great to be back, been enjoying all the articles and comments guys👊🏻

I think that while some may regress, overall we could possibly be even more efficient by increasing our volume and percentage (Yes, I think that it is possible).

My reasons for the above are:

  1. We have many players who can make a shot. Only Zu doesn’t shoot. Even Mann and Coffey have stepped up.
  2. PG and Kawhi, as good as they can be are not the reason we are the best 3pt shooting team. Their gravity leads to the other good shooter getting open looks. Morris, Batum, Bev, Jackson, Ibaka, Kennard, Coffey have all benefited from this. The supporting cast is there, at least as far as 3s are concerned.
  3. Ball movement, ball movement, ball movement. I cannot emphasise enough that this is the key. Whenever we have done this well, we have dominated. We need to practice this in clutch moments and incorporate cuts and other type of shots into the scheme. A free shot is a free shot.
  4. We need to run some schemes to optimise the efficiency of players like Batum, Morris, and even Kawhi who all seem to prefer the corner catch and shoot.
  5. Finally lets figure out Kennard, this guy needs to shoot more (and play).

Some stats:

50% plus: 8-0
45-50%: 5-1
40-45%: 5-4
35-40%: 2-2
30-35%: 3-3
under 30%: 1-2

3s help, but are not everything.

Over 40% we are 18-5.

The 5 games we lost were GSW (45.2), SAS (42.9), BKN (41.7), BOS (43.8), and BKN (42.9).

All clutch games, and the bad 4th quarter against the Warriors.

I firmly believe that we can maintain the 40% and that we have levels we haven’t reached.

It’s why the Clippers lost a game by 51 points. It’s why teams will score 150 one night and 75 the next. Playing with fire, for sure. The best teams don’t just chuck threes, they attack the rim too.
