Feels like there is so many bad contracts in the league these days that trading Blake wouldn’t be impossible. Just might mean they need to swap bad contracts.

Might be a win for them if they can get a smaller longer contract that is easier to deal in the future, like Al Horford. Would be happy for Blake if he could get back to OKC too.

Agree on your last point. The trade was so out of the blue that it took a while to understand. Although it as hard to agree with for some time (especially after the reports of the fake jersey retiring in re-signing Blake), it was the right thing to do.

For all the Zion hype we Clippers fans know that he ain’t squat compared to prime Blake. As crazy as it sounds he may be even less durable than Blake was too. Both great kids with explosive games but not ideal basketball bodies for long term careers. Now watch Zion go for 40 after I say this:-)

I tried watching a few Pistons games early in the season & just couldn’t keep watching! That roster is pathetic & seeing Blake just going through the motions, not giving a single fuck, was just saddening to watch.. Haven’t watched a game since he came back from his concussion but don’t think it’s even worth it anymore.. Hate to see another great player ruined by injuries

We all discussed how his skills and style of play would not age well. And his drift towards the 3pt line was strategic. So I’m not shocked at all they this is the Blake of 2021.

It’s a bummer to see our one true Clipper-born superstar be past his prime so soon; wished he could have built more upon his legacy.

But from a Machiavellian standpoint, LAC sure got out at the right time!

I was hoping Denver would like do a Harris/Barton trade for Blake, just to get him out of Detroit. Unfortunately Blake probably isn’t playing well enough for Denver to consider that, but he would give them at least another potential star if they made that deal.

And despite that 8-16 (!!!) game from three, he’s just 15-51 on the season. 7-35 in his other 6 appearances, with 3 games missed.

I saw him being praised for hitting 8 3’s in a game (I think second game of the season) which is just crazy when you think about his time on the Clips.

Problem was, he finished the game with only 26 points, which means he scored only one basket from 2, and didn’t get to the line at all. That’s also crazy to think about.
