As much as I wish they’d blow it up, last season was just a wash for them. They obviously thought it would work or else they wouldn’t have traded the farm for Gobert.

My hope was there is a way to get KAT here with PG and Kawhi. Given KAT’s friendship with PG, seems like an obvious target to add, but would’ve probably taken him forcing his way out and not signing that extension last summer.

If we somehow lose lots of vets this off-season, I hope we start to re-tool with younger guys. At least give the current ones some chances to shine.
If we can hang around 8th to 11th seed after trade deadline, finishing the season by going 15-10 or 17-8 will definitely give a chance for the playoffs. ’21-’22 season will be remembered much different if PG can suit up and get us in the PO.
Bones/T-Mann/Zu/Coffey along with Preston/Boston/Moose and a couple guys from this draft might not be enough to win some games for us. But PG/Kawhi/Batum/RoCo/Norm should be there, in some shape and form, to help them anyway. Suitable system and game plan can go a long way as well.
I wish we start to transform this team before it’s too late to do.

KAT at the 4 is both a waste and a liability on both ends. Just like everyone blamed Embiid playing soft taking too many jump shots, he’s basically forced to playing the 4 next to Gobert.

My concern is what picks do the Wolves even have left to trade. Maybe they can trade some others for picks. I wouldn’t want to do the trade straight up as Ant and PG13 together is quite an upgrade over their current situation and the Clips would be somewhat of a downgrade unless Kat goes nuts on the Clippers with spacing and Kawhi.

The Wolves roster obviously doesn’t work

Is there really definitive proof of this? They started rough but not terrible (10-11 in the first 21; 9-10 with KAT/Gobert on the floor together) before KAT got hurt and then closed 5-3 when he came back near the end of the year. There was basically a lukewarm acclimation period and then nothing. And they’d have to sell low to move on this summer. I think they keep both guys.

The Wolves roster obviously doesn’t work, so KAT needs to go. I wonder if PG13 and MM for KAT, Conley, and picks would be something the Wolves would be interested in.

For the Wolves, Gobert covers MM’s defense problems while MM’s shooting and slightly better mobility than KAT at the 4 might be an upgrade. PG13 would be their starting 3 next to Ant.

For the Clippers, they get an all-star center that can stretch the floor finally and some hope for the future. Conley fills the starting PG role Kawhi and (ugh…) Lue want. Mann can start at SG. Coffey finally gets some minutes. RoCo starts? Mann, Kawhi, RoCo should be able to cover up KAT’s lack of defense.

Russ and Plumlee sign elsewhere for more money. Gordon gets cut for cap relief and signs somewhere else. Everybody wins?

Respect? Sure, I respect both teams talents, but that doesn’t mean I have to like them. Fuck ’em both – I hope it goes 7 and exhausts both teams beyond the point of recovery before the conference finals.
