The Suns also smelled fraudulent to me. Best overall record, but the Celtics after they hit the ignition switch were number one in both offense and defense over the last half of the season. Agree that the NBA might have had a problem on its hands had Kawhi come back, but who knows if that was ever a real possibility. Just looking forward to Clippers dominating next season.

I’ve been calling the Suns more or less frauds since the start of the playoffs, and with this outcome (which isn’t surprising to me), just reinforces the fact to me the Clips get into the playoffs without PG getting COVID and they would’ve given themselves a shot. Especially with Booker missing a chunk of the 1st round, they would’ve given the Suns all they could handle.

Mavs without Kawhi would’ve been tough, but I do feel like Ty figured some stuff out about them over the past few years. I mean after being down 0-2 last season, Clips went 4-1 over the next 5 to win the series. This year all the games were super close and really that last game starting Zu on Doncic and getting the win without PG or Kawhi was a masterclass in coaching. I wish I knew how close Kawhi really was to coming back and I’m guessing we’ll never know. But if Kawhi was able to be back by the 2nd round or something, then definitely the league would’ve had a problem on it’s hands.

I’d actually like to see CP finally win his title, just not this year. Maybe he’ll become a has-been ring chaser on another team and get one. He was amazing for us but unfortunately either went brain-dead in the clutch or pulled the ol’ hammy, not his fault.

Yea, I feel like one of the few Clipper fans that will always root for CP, and in the right matchup would root for the Suns to see him win. But unfortunately for him, the rest of his team is just annoying. Reminds me of when Shaun Livingston was on the Warriors. One of my favorite Clippers, but almost certainly couldn’t root for the Warriors.

The Suns were never as good as they thought they were. The last two postseasons they’ve lost to the only 2 (mostly) healthy teams they’ve played against.

Still though. #1 seed, game 7 at home, and you lose *like that*? This is legacy-defining-level bad.

Booker and Crowder are easily in my top 5 most disliked NBA players. CP3 I don’t dislike as much (I still have nostalgia about Lob City, I respect the hell out of his actual skills, and he seems like a good dude off the court), but goddamn his antics and foul-baiting get old real fast.

I lowkey think Cade Cunningham, Ayton, and another high pick (e.g. Banchero or Jabari Smith) could sneak into the playoffs next season. Ayton can go a team that actually appreciates him and that he can grow with, and we get to dance on Phoenix’s grave. Win-win.

I should clarify, the Clippers team could defend the other Dallas members — Luka can get 35, but don’t let anyone else get 25. I’m still shaking my head, the Suns, WTF?
