The rest of the NBA should still love the Clippers. If Kawhi joined Lebron and AD, the season would’ve been a wrap last July.

We haven’t seen the best of the Clippers yet. A few glimpses in Game 1. I want to see PatBev with the starting unit for a whole series. It is an amazing luxury to have such a deep team — J. Green was fantastic.
I am still scratching my head and very grateful for the Lakers trading Zubac (and Beasley) for Mike Muscala (who we got from Philly — I had to look it up).
Also, that CP3 trade with Houston got us LouWill and Montrezl.
If you look at the entirety of the several years of good trades and accumulation of assets, which put us into the position of being able to get Kawhi and PG13 makes more sense.
Somewhere in a horrible alternate universe, Kahwi joined LBJ on the Lakers. Shudders.

Obviously I’m pulling for a Clips championship, but at this point I’m totally fine w/ any of the teams in the EAST, and the Lakers/Rockets are the only teams left that I vehemently dislike. So Clips + anyone Finals is perfectly fine w/ me.

Like “ride or die do or die.” Clippers are riding and doing. I’m looking forward to Clippers vs. Celtics in the finals (my two favorite teams over the years, would be great fun for me).

The trade package for PG13 alone would’ve been a horrific mistake for the Clips. But he didn’t come alone – we traded that boatload of assets for PG13 *and* The Terminator.

If we don’t make that trade, we’re basically in the Mavs position right now (but SGA isn’t at Luka’s level, and…as much as I love his game, I don’t think he ever will be). Bev/SGA/Shamet/Gallo/Zu might be a feel-good 7-8 seed, and there’s a certain special love for home-grown/drafted talent, but there’s no question that the Clips are a MUCH better team for at least this season and next.

Losing all those picks hurts, but if we win a ring or two in the next couple seasons, any price would have been worth it.

You can say the trade was a lot for pg13 but it netted us kawhi as well (which is well worth the package) but even more it’s worth it if we win a chip! Really that’s what both moves (acquiring both kawhi /pg13 and trade for Morris ) was all about.
Especially as a franchise with the history of the clippers, never won one! All hands on deck, all in, ride or die do or die we gotta go for it.

So we traded that package for Kawhi Leonard (all-time great) and Paul George (pretty decent Robin for the Boardman). Shai and Danilo were terrible in that last game vs. Houston. The Rockets hunted Shai mercilessly throughout and Danilo was a nonfactor on offense. Shai will have a nice career and Gallo is entering the downside of his. I’d say that trade worked out for the Clips, even with all those picks included. The front office went for it.

considering the Clips have made it out of the first round a total of 4 times in the modern era – combined with watching Kawhi calmly push the lead beyond doubt in the 4th with back, to back, to back buckets….no certainly not too early.
