I don’t think Klay is realistic because he’s an UFA – so it’d have to be a sign and trade, which is complicated and the Clippers shouldn’t want because I believe they’d be hard-capped. Also, I would literally rather let George walk for nothing than be forced to take on an even more washed Klay who would now be signed to a bloated, long-term deal – unless he signs for around the MLE, I expect that he’ll be the next Tobias Harris type of contract (re: guy who isn’t terrible, but who is paid way too much, and is a negative asset overall).

Seems like everyone (myself included) keep proposing multiplayer trades with the warriors when I think neither team can do this because of the second apron. If this is possible I just can’t see them including Kuminga but if they did I’d be over the moon. If it is possible to combine some contracts I still think a more realistic deal would involve Klay for PG somehow and using CP’s salary as filler+picks. Sorry if I’m lagging on the discourse but I can’t keep up with all of the ideas being proposed lol.

Now all that being said, I’m not expecting the Clippers to get much if George opts-in and they trade him. I expect we get more than what we got for CP3, but not the Moody + CP3 + Kuminga + multiple 1sts or the Sengun-centered hypos that I’ve seen some folks toss out there on social media.
