I assume this relates to Xavier Moon signing as a two-way player for less than 15-days, the Clips no longer would hold his rights as a restricted free agent this summer? But I’m not sure how that affects his salary or Clips luxury tax payments this year.

I know I shouldn’t criticize the front office/Ballmer for not having an unlimited spending power given that they took on salary in the Norm/RoCo deal, but I just wish they were able to get more out of the Serge/potential roster spots. It’s hard to criticize a team for not taking on salary for completely filling out their 3rd string roster, so sometimes I have to remind myself it’s really nitpicking when you’re talking about guys like Semi, Hood, Xavier Moon, and potential signings like DJ Augustin and Wenyen Gabriel. But guys like Augustin and Gabriel have been solid for the Lakers (and probably contributed a few wins to them).

Not to mention that I still wonder if there was a way to turn Serge into Marvin Bagley. I mean the Pistons gave up basically 2 second round picks and feels like he’s starting to show some of that potential that made him the 2nd overall pick.

Hood looks pretty washed but he did have some fairly impressive years early in his career—especially in his sophomore campaign https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rodney_Hood

There’s also probably some sentiment toward a veteran guy and just doing right by him. I’m wondering if they’re going to rest Mook a lot and will use Hood as filler toward the end of the season and then cut him before the playoffs for a more fleet footed big like WCS. I wouldn’t mind seeing a third big just for security purposes.

Ojeyli has made some positive plays during his tenure on the Clips whereas Hood hasn’t done anything that could be considered remotely positive. Hood may be the worst player in the NBA.

Good to see Moon back, but honestly I would’ve rather brought up Kris Dunn before Portland stole him from Agua Caliente. Either way, hopefully Moon can spell Reggie down the stretch and help keep him fresh for the play-in.

P.S. I’m hyped about PG13 actually practicing in 5-on-5s. Hopefully he, Norm, and Kawhi can return soon.
