Charlotte hasn’t renounced him, so they can still re-sign him if he is allowed to play. In total, 20/30 NBA teams still have above-minimum deals to give out, either cap room, taxpayer MLE, non-taxpayer MLE, room exception, or bi-annual exception. Roster spots and available minutes at C are a different story–not super sure what the best fit would be without doing a much deeper dive than I’m gonna do on this lol

Still wondering what’s the most Trez can get from a team out there if he gets off the charge and is allowed to play ?

Utah could buy him out after the deadline if they don’t find a deal, but yeah, they should be able to get positive value (even if it’s just filler and a 2nd) for him in a trade.

I don’t think it’s NBA teams caring about him getting arrested for weed–I think it’s the possibility that due to draconian laws in Kentucky, he could end up in prison this year and not available to an NBA team. It’s a really shitty situation. I hope he ends up getting it dismissed. Prison time for weed is pretty insane at this point.

It’s probably already been said, but at some point dominoes are going to fall and it’s going to feel like a second entirely separate summer free agency.
Let’s say Boston trades for KD and they need to bolster the point position. Hello Schroeder who averaged 14.4 points and 4.2 assists in 29 minutes per game for you before you packaged him for Theis (come to think of it that may deter him from wanting to join that squad) What I don’t see is him agreeing to be 3rd point off the bench nor in a Laker jersey as they ended things pretty sour.)
Another thing I cannot see. A Patrick Beverly buyout. Either that’s a trade deadline deal from a desperate team that nets the Jazz something at all, or it’s happening this summer, but you don’t buyout a culture changer unless he’s gone and injured himself.

Most definitly agree Trez could get a better role for his career somewhere else, I’m still surprised that a weed arrest is keeping him from a nba team at this point?! Charlotte and other teams must have some other insight about him /attitude lockeroom issues something!

As far as the other vets I agree with you about being out the nba, dwight could make that move if he’s at the point that he still sees some light in gaining another nba contract in the future, but if I was him I just prolly take a third string spot on a contender and ring chase.
He does have options to wait it out like you said(definitly could be smart move) but also I’m from the thinking of a bird in the hand is better then nothing later on!
Maybe the clippers are really planning on bringing up diabete more then we think .
Amir in the past was used pretty often in the past, obviously Amir been around for a while and diabate is definitly a huge developement piece.
But if we’re as deep as we are and healthy, during blowouts us winning or is load managing to a contender team and we expect to get blown out/lose I’d imagine those would be good times to bring diabate up and get real nba development time with our real third string nba guys/coach lue etc?
