More realistically, I think we trade any or several of MM, Mann, Amir or Reggie. This FO isn’t likely to sell low on a player. We have Kennard on a longer contract than any of these other guys. If I were running the team, because all of these guys are good, I would only trade the ones I have gotten a chance to showcase and I would also only trade them for a disgruntled star situation.

I definitely wouldn’t trade any of these guys just to lessen our depth (wouldn’t give kennard up for a 1st round pick). In theory, if Gobert get’s disgruntled (or it just isn’t working in minnesota), trading MM, Mann and Reggie for Gobert would leave us with the perfect roster to have Kennard in (starting line up of PG, Kennard, Batum, Leonard and Gobert with a bench of Wall, Norm, Amir, Roco and Zu). I lean towards keeping Kennard over the guys we send out in that trade due to his combined young age and long length of contract.

If we don’t get a trade opportunity like that or some smaller version of that, I think we keep our depth and wait for an opportunity like that. Our guys are bought in and seem to understand the situation really well. It’s one of the best parts of having a great organization.

In reality though, I think his sloppiness is a symptom of his loser mentality. The dude gets by almost entirely by his raw natural talent, but I think at heart, he has a loser mentality and doesn’t believe in himself enough to crush opponents on every play. His body language is often really bad and really only changes when he catches a hot shooting streak (which he can definitely do).

I wish PG would just focus on defense. If he just committed to being the best wing defender in the game, he would be able to rely on that and feel good about that even on nights when his shot isn’t falling. In reality thought, I feel like his defense follows his offense, both of which can spiral in either direction.

PG might have the hardest job on the team, between the loads he carries on both ends and the fact that he has to lead the team when Leonard is out. I just wish he owned that challenge instead of slinking back into some bad habits. While I can excuse not always finishing inside, the sloppy passing and crappy body language on D is inexcusable. Let’s hope he brings it as the number 2 behind Leonard. Honestly, though, I’m not optimistic about that.

Worst case scenario: “John Wall ball” works better on the second unit and leave Reggie with the starters for more familiarity.

Just his ability to guard out on the perimeter at his height is such a need in today’s NBA. Sure he still has some “young giraffe” awkwardness to his game, but even with that, he is very good at staying in front of basically anyone he’s guarding. Obviously the talent level he was playing against in the 4th quarter is probably a tier below guys he would see as like the backup C, but so refreshing to have a promising young C prospect on the roster after the last few attempts.

With him bringing up the ball, many positions just turn into “John Wall ball” with him over dribbling trying to beat his man to the basket. Not sure I saw him receive a pass immediately pass it to the next guy without at least taking a few dribbles to see if he could score. At least a little worrying to me.

Still feels like I would like to see him playing more limited minutes, and really asking him to push tempo nearly every possession. Didn’t like a lot of possessions with him walking the ball up the court.

Yeah, kinda saw that a couple times but it looked like he had nothing so slim choices. I’d give him lots of rope as he’s only gonna get better as he finds his way in the system. The open court is where he’s gonna thrive. He’s really got a chance to make this kind of a “showtime” clippers extravaganza.

Doesn’t feel like a guy you give up for less than like a 1st round pick.

Wall definitely is like a juiced up Bledsoe. So much bigger and felt like has a better handle. Bled was solid at just going north south and driving into the paint, but with Wall it feel like he’s so much more of a threat at actually making a shot. Getting 9 FTA is probably not going to happen every game for Wall, but that is definitely where is game shined in this one.

I know it’s just one game, but still gives me a lot of confidence in Wall. I still don’t think Wall is going to be like the best starting option for the Clippers, but he definitely showed some stuff in this game to like and makes me feel like even if he’s not a starter, he’s going to be getting significant playing time, which I had my doubts about before this game.
