Chogokin as you well know I am 100% onboard with the perplexity. It makes the Serge trade look sooo much worse. It feels cruel and unusual to run Reggie into the ground.

That being said I did notice Tomas didn’t play that well against us. I’m telling you people, he was beyond functioning in those other games, but maybe his stats will recede back to that of a bought out player. Someone on this site has to ask Jerry or Lawrence what the fuck this was all about if there is an interview process like they’ve had in the past for seat sales or whatever. Last part was hard to understand but you know what I mean right? The word for the fanfare is escaping me at the moment.

Yea, best case scenario for Hood and Ojeleye would be like “we need some veteran guys to contribute minutes immediately because we don’t trust the young guys yet.” But it’s pretty clear neither of them is even as trustworthy as Boston. So no upside, and no immediate relief (for Reggie in particular), so…what’s the angle here? Do they have a super influential agent who also represents a potentially disgruntled superstar? Is there some grand conspiracy brewing? Because on the surface I really just don’t get how keeping these guys is a better play than signing Coffey to a real deal and bringing in a legitimate PG to help give Reggie some rest here and there.

Definitely felt like Augustin and Gabriel would be decent pickups for an emergency.

Although it’s starting to feel like the 8th seed is inevitable. Do you really push Reggie/Nico/Mook into long minutes when moving up or down seems unlikely?

I feel like there probably are going to be some games towards the end of the season that it might be nice to get a look at some young guys, at least more useful than keeping Hood and Semi on the roster.

I’d love to give Preston some run too, but as usual the Clips are super tight lipped about injury statuses, so we’ve got no idea how healthy he is at this point. But even if he were healthy, my point still stands – Reggie needs help/rest right now. If the Clips think Preston will be back soon, great – waive one or both of Hood and Ojeleye, sign one of Yogi/Dunn/Walton/Moon to a 10-day, and then don’t re-sign them after Preston is healthy.

I just…don’t get it. If Hood and Ojeleye aren’t good enough for even spot minutes in games, I don’t understand why they’re still on the roster. We’re well past the trade deadline, neither of them appears to be good enough to shoulder meaningful minutes, neither of them plays a position of need, neither of them are young enough to have like raw, untapped potential, and we got plenty of locker room vets to mentor the young’uns. I’m genuinely baffled by the FO’s thinking on keeping them.

Egalitarian: the idea that all people are equal and should have the same rights and opportunities.
The absence of the stars is a downer, for sure, but also gives this team an egalitarian identity. Sure, we can’t hang with the elites and their stars but we can look really dangerous at home vs. an average team. Last nite’s game was really fun to watch. The Luke 3s to end the 3rd were ESSENTIAL. Reggie’s last drive attracted just enough attention and he was able to find TMann. Mann’s very quick touch pass to Nic was reflexive and automatic. Mann obviously knew exactly where Nic was since there was NO time for cogitation. That’s teamwork. Happy for Nic as he seems to be regaining his shooting form.
In terms of FO moves and non moves, I expect that 213 Hoops will finally update it’s NEWS section with headlines soon.
