Definitely. I think that given enough minutes Luke could easily be a 20+ ppg guy. Get PG and Powell back and this team is an offensive powerhouse.

I still regret losing McGruder just because I enjoyed calling him MacGruber.

Speaking of Luke–let’s go back to the 2020 trade with the Pistons who sent us Luke for Landry Shamet, Rodney McGruder in a 3 team trade involving some seconds and spare parts. Whoever engineered that puppy is overdue for some praise.

Kawhi just took the game over like a boss. This was a flash of peak Kawhi. Never saw him laugh like he did after the game. Yes, Luke is this team’s number three. Tremendous scorer, has become a good defender, gets rebounds. Lucky us.

Luke has been outstanding.

Currently our best players (in my opinion) are:

PG (He is all around great)
Kawhi (we are 9-2 in his games)
Batum (top glue guy)
Kennard (instant offense and improved defensively)
Morris (has been better than last year overall)
Jackson (when he is good, we win)
Mann (If his shot was better he would be in the top 3)

This has nothing to do with individual performance (for example Zu, has been great) but who contributes to winning basketball.
Most of these correlate with the eye test and some data.

Obviously the starters help eachother with better plus/minus, but in this age of infinite lineups:

Totally agree on all points, especially re Luke. Is he our third best player? Seems like he does everything well and unlike most of the elite marksmen we’ve seen over the years can actually score off the bounce too. He’s always in the correct position and seems to rebound ok and although not a lockdown defender seems to be a smart one. I really hope we can see Luke, PG and Kawhi all on the floor together healthy at some point. Good luck stoping that. Key word of course is HEALTH.

Wall gives me the same trepidations as PG. Was he ever a reliable ball handler? I just don’t know about this guy. Seems to really not value each possession enough. I worry about even the routine passes (not a lot of zip on the ball). Somebody’s got to get in this guy’s ear (Ty). At least he was not in for the finish when Kawhi just turned it on like a tornado passing thru. Good luck on stopping that guy in crunch time.
And look at Coffey. His shot’s looking pretty confident and fluid. Not to mention Luke’s xlnt play. Hot take: Luke could easily be master of BOTH the 3 ball and midrange = untradeable.
Back to Wall — I think we’ll see less and less of him when Norm returns.

Man, will we ever be healthy or consistent? Hard to have a good offense or defense playing lineups that have never played together. Also, we are one of the worst layup shooting teams I’ve ever seen.
