Preston really seems to be very mature for his age. Same for Diabate being away from his homeland. The Clippers do indeed have a bright future with their “Mini-Big 3.”

Truly believe Preston will become our lead guard one day.
And Moose is built for this team. Strong rebounder, switchable defender and a PnR finisher.
Really good young prospects on our team.

Warriors just played at too fast a pace and ran the Clips out of the gym by the end of Q2. They had rest after getting blown out by NO. We didn’t have as much rest and we were down 3 key players. We couldn’t stay attached to Steph or Klay on their multiple back door cuts. Guys got confused on D at times, thinking Steph, Klay or Wiggins were running through the lane to get to the 3 pt line, so they ran to that spot and as soon as the Warriors saw that they juked the other way back towards the rim and got easy layups. You really just have to play GSW for the back door cut and trust your perimeter defenders to guard the 3 pt line. They run that play like a timed on sides run into the box in soccer or like a QB trusting the receiver to make a move to fake out a defender and get to an open space in the zone or the wide space towards the sideline on a crossing pattern.

Steph is one of the top 5 players in NBA history (imho) b/c he doesn’t stop moving. He runs when no one else wants to. There’s no spot on the floor where he isn’t dangerous.

Norm Powell looks like a good matchup against GSW. They’re a finesse, pace and space team and that suits Norm well. Kawhi would’ve made a difference in this game b/c he plays at his pace, which is slower than GSW’s pace. Him commanding the middle of the floor, slowing the pace down, getting to his spots and making his shots would’ve made it harder for GSW to run out on made shots.

Wall was pretty terrible, and Ty Lue trusted him a bit too much. I’d rather see the ball in Norm Powell’s hands, but really I want a true back up point guard and that would be Jason Preston. I think he understands how to control the pace of the game. We just had to figure out better ways to slow GSW down instead of getting into a track meet with them.

Maybe he’s evolving into more than a glue guy before our eyes. Wall is going to have to find his new 32 year old speed and stick with that. He gets into trouble when his body can’t go where his mind is taking him. He seriously needs some shooters on the floor to be useful too. Not guys that CAN make the three but guys that WILL make the three. Big difference there. Not having PG or Luke is pretty devastating for our offense. Obviously Kawhi too for other reasons. I like Terence and Coffey starting and hope they take things up another notch tomorrow against Denver. IF so that’s a winnable game.

For tortured Clippers fans, when our team wins a Championship, it will be truly wonderful.

Law Murray’s in-depth Clippers coverage is great.

It is not a hamstring strain, it is not a hamstring tear. All that to say, the Clippers are not concerned (yet) about George missing multiple weeks.” Also: “. . . contenders are built over time. We’re all just sitting here waiting for Leonard and George to be on the court long enough to build that time up. Maybe it happens this season. You’d be pardoned for not wanting to hold your breath.” I’m lowering my obviously unrealistic expectations, which included Kawhi returning fresh as a daisy and dominating from the start. He said his recovery is a two-year process, not just one. We’re in year two. Otherwise, happy Thanksgiving!
