My takes:

1) We almost won without Batum, Ibaka and of course Kawhi.
2) PG looked good.
3) Bledsoe will be very useful this year.
4) I think Bledsoe should run the 2nd unit when Reggie is on the floor and vice versa. No need for both.
5) Bledsoe-Kennard, Reggie-Mann, Winslow-Kennard, Reggie-Winslow
That is the guard rotation I want to see one above average defender one shooter. No need for two shooters or two bad defenders. Sprinkle rookies for variety at times.
6) Wanted to see Keon on Steph just chasing him around everywhere. No need for offense.
7) Reggie had a bad game.
8) Happy with assists and steals, we need to rebound better. People forget that BoardMan is not here. Others should step up.

unfortunately I don’t think the refs will change the way they call PG. he really needs to finish at the rim, wether he’s fouled or not. Bledsoe needs to pass more. not a bad first game for the clips, but could’ve and should’ve won it.

Re the drought in the 4th. Half of those misses were good D by the Warriors but half we just rimmed out. If just one of those goes in it’s likely we would have won and the inside guys would have been “Watch out for the Clippers!” “They absorbed Steph’s monster game and STILL won!” “Ty Lue is the best coach in the NBA!” It’s all a bit silly but we will be 2-1 after Monday night and that hype will kick in then.

This was a solid loss. I like how our guys fought to the finish. With Batum and Ibaka out, Reggie having an off night, Zu having an off night (and a terrible match up), steph catching fire and for this to come down to the last minute of the game, I’m pretty optimistic about our team this year.

So they’re missing Klay thompson. We were missing Leonard. Ultimately, our clippers took a punch to the face in the first quarter and kept on swinging for the remaining 3. I have no concerns at this point.

Only able to catch the last 6 minutes of the game. I was peeking at the score and when I saw we were down by 19 in the 2nd, I figured this could get ugly. Shocked to see the halftime score. That was good shit. It seems like Curry takes special pleasure in beating the Clips and that he shoots lights out against us with defenders draped on him, which makes it infuriating that he can’t hit anything against the Lakers even when he’s wide open. Oh well. There were two 3-point attempts in the last couple minutes (one by
Reggie and one by Bledsoe) that were in and out. I think either of those changes the complexion of this game. On the flip side, Curry makes two contested 3’s (one was way way out there). This time things didn’t go our way, but I think this team is going to be really good and competitive. Looking forward to a fun season.

My takeaways from the game

Bledsoe is still a really good defender
T Mann played some really good D ... hope this is the type of D we will see from him all season long
We got bad Reggie for the most part
PG13 is prohibited by NBA from drawing fouls and shooting FT's
Winslow seemed to move around pretty well
Don't think Reggie & Luke should play together ... they hemorrhage too many points when playing together but it is probably unavoidable
Apparently Draymond kicking out his leg on a layup is now a foul on the defender

Doncic looks fat
Westbrook doing Westbrook things
Lakers have already been anointed as Champions according to their players
Glad we didn't sign Bazemore ... he sucks
Reggie Miller is the worst broadcaster in case you guys didn't already know or forgot

Bled definitely fits THIS version of the Clips more so than Bev. Coffey’s minutes felt like they should’ve gone to Winslow.

The cold streak in the 4th completely did them in. I don’t ? Nic’s personal reasons absence one iota (and glad it’s not injury), but his presence would likely have cancelled out that cold streak. Come on now, who’s the better shooter–Amir or Nic? No contest. So Lue’s options were indeed limited. Ironic since ud figure we’d be intact for G1. We all knew that this was going to be a team with very lil margin for error due to KLs absence (BTW, very good to see KL travel and cheer the team). The bright sides:
Luke and Reggie will for sure shoot better
Bledsoe is a major Pat Bev upgrade
Want to see more of Winslow–like his size and versatility
We had 9 steals to their 5–getting steals is a completely underrated stat-shows we came to play and can be very dangerous
The team hung in there after that ridiculous Warrior start; hats off for not getting demoralized

Plenty of bright sides but I get the feeling that every Clipper win this season will be hard fought. Same with every other team missing a key piece. Lots of pressure on this team since the players know that the likelihood KL returns this season increases if the team makes the POs and decreases if they fall out of the running. Not gonna be easy on us fans, not by a long shot.
